Re: Nintendo 64 Input Situation

Might grab two reflex adapters? Looks useful as I can also use it on PC. Can adapt most things with the right adapter cable and is in stock currently. Kinda of pricey though if I just want n64 controllers.

Edit: Bought two reflex adapts and some cables.

Re: Nintendo 64 Input Situation

I've been sleuthing around trying to figure out what to buy. So far I bought 20 oem controllers and a bunch of kitsch-bent replacement parts. Will rebuild them all. Will keep 4 for myself and sell off the rest. 8bitdo kits look cool but I can buy brand new Tribute64 v2 for the same price as the kit. I also don't want to use bluetooth vs a dedicated...

There's actually a MiSTer hiding back there :)

The printer on the left actually looks like a sick console case.

Was this FDM printed? Photo resolution makes it hard to see the surface quality

Re: Nintendo 64 Input Situation

I think they're just available and cheap now at least. I've only seen them in stock and resellers seeking bundles of parts.

It's injection molded so very cheap to make a lot of them.

Re: Nintendo 64 Input Situation

@parawizard Sadly, I've yet to see a single rebuild kit that even approaches the quality of the shitty Nintendo plastic...I got very tired of annual rebuilds and just wanted something reliable and trouble-free. That joystick definitely hit the sweet spot. Have you seen the kitsch bent replacement parts? Why USB, though? SNAC is fantastic. As long ...

Re: Stuttering and slow downs in Gunstar Heroes

Is this block https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Genesis ... #L155-L216 literally setting up clock sequences? I am guessing CNT is for counts. Is PAUSE_EN part of the actual logic?

Rabbit hole way too early in the morning

Re: Stuttering and slow downs in Gunstar Heroes

Wanted to understand how turbo worked in the genesis core: https://github.com/search?q=repo%3AMiSTer-devel%2FGenesis_MiSTer+turbo&type=commits Even after learning that 4'dX means a 4 bit decimal value of X and some other Verilog tidbits like blocking and non-blocking assignment, I am not quite sure what turbo does. Looks like it touches VCLKCNT...

Re: Stuttering and slow downs in Gunstar Heroes

Seems like overclocking helps this game without side effects? Found a sheet showing overclocking comparability with games https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1E9eHd0uj0nzgwBMbIPbeGlZsbutGRyPTTVoYce7GmF0/pubhtml?pli=1 10MHz Significantly less slowdown in 2P mode during some boss fights 12MHz No noticeable slowdown in 2P mode anymore.

Stuttering and slow downs in Gunstar Heroes

Haven't played in a real Genesis for decades. It's normal to have stutters and slow downs in certain areas of this game?

This area seemed the worst:

I tried turning turbo onto medium for the second playthrough I think it helped.

Re: Nintendo 64 Input Situation

I think I may just rebuild some OEM controllers and use USB adapters. Considering the price per each modkit or the price per each tribute64 controller it's way cheaper to rebuild the OEM sticks and use an adapter.

Re: Nintendo 64 Input Situation

Does multiplayer work in the core? Looking at N64 controllers and haven't been able to settle on one yet. Is 8bitdo really coming out with some? I was thinking of just getting 4 N64 -> USB adapters and refurbing some OEm controllers

In a Haze I Mistyped My Username

Was wondering if a moderator was able to correct my username to parawizard or am I doomed to parawziard for all eternity? I looked in settings and looks like I do not have the power to do so myself.

Thanks

Re: USB Hub v2.1 Seems to be Dead

With the board powered off have you checked the continuity of the micro USB port pins to the board? Edit: Schematic can be found here https://mister-devel.github.io/MkDocs_MiSTer/developer/links/?h=de10#de10-nano-resources There is a page dedicated to the USB PHY. I would check the following: Continuity from micro usb pins or adapter pins to pins o...
