Re: MiSTer Cores Ported to MiST
Yes! The TI-99/4a, Sharp MZ, Apple I, Altair 8800, DEC PDP-1, EDSAC, Jupiter ACE and Arduboy. GBA, if it’s possible. Also, I believe the CoCo 3 is on both MiST and MiSTer now.

Re: MiSTer Cores Ported to MiST
Yes, I already knew this, but there are still a lot of cores that need to be ported that are quite feasible to do I would think. I’ll come up with a list shortly.

MiSTer Cores Ported to MiST
Being the owner of three MiSTers and one MiST, there are cores I would like to see ported from the MiSTer over to the MiST. Does anybody else feel this way? What are some of the cores on your wishlist?

Re: Tandy 1000 Core
The Tandy 1000 was the response to the PCjr. It was considerably more affordable at the time and could run most of the IBM XT software. It was not however identical. There was TGA graphics and Tandy sound, which was way better than any XT computer at the time. It should definitely have it’s own core running an 8088 or 8088-2 with the option to run ...

Tempest and Major Havoc FPGA
Anyone working on cores for vector monitor game output?

Re: Virtual Boy
Not looking for 3D or anything like that. Was looking to install a Virtual Tap VGA or RGB out onto a VB, but just thinking VB on the MiSTer would be so much better. I know the games library is quite small, but I find them pretty fun nevertheless.

Do you think a Virtual Boy core would be a difficult one to develop?

This is running a Intel 386, so it is very possible borrowing from the ao486 project I would think.

Re: Tandy 1000
You are correct, but a lot of games don’t run properly or the sound is messed up with the slow down utility. Plus, there is the lack of Tandy graphics/sound. The 8088 instruction set is 8-bit and is different from the 16-bit 8086/x86 processors. All-in-all it’s not quite the same.

Re: New to MiSTer, What are the limits?
Whoops, just realized this is the arcade forum. Well, I still say everything arcade from the 90s is still on the table. Anything after that is not very likely. Cheers.

Re: New to MiSTer, What are the limits?
I would say pretty much everything pre-Dreamcast (~1999) is possible. So, N64, Saturn and Playstation are within the realm of possibility, with the N64 being the least probable.

Tandy 1000
Will the ao486 core run all of the 8088 games that the Tandy 1000/IBM XT did or is it too fast to run?
