Re: The secondary SD Card
What I was getting at is a future IO board could have the ADC built into this second snac adapter for use with analog controllers(duel shock, atari paddle controller, saturn 3D pad, atari 5200) The existing Snac already does this to a huge degree. Consoles that have existing Snac support now can use their Analog controllers. PSX Snac functions are...

Re: Network card
Which core in particular are you thinking of? Certain cores (AO486, Amiga, Atari(?)) have networking ability. You'll have to search around this forum and/or YouTube but the info is there. To add to your comment, the AO486, Amiga, and Atari ST cores already can use the existing DE 10 Nano's Ethernet port or WiFi USB for networking. No need for an a...

Re: The secondary SD Card
The good news is that the MiSTer's ADC supports 8 channels, and only 2 are in use by the ADC board. The not so good news is that the current ADC board is not suitable for audio, and for compatibility, 2 more ADC inputs might need to get used in future for audio input. What would this expanded ADC input would do for you? Edit sounds in the Amiga co...

Re: The secondary SD Card
Would be nice if the 2nd SD slot could be used as extra storage and used with all cores It's already used for storage, it for the FPGA to directly access files. Especially for early/beta cores. Every MiSTer is also a dev kit. If you really want extra storage for roms, USB like a thumb drive or a USB HDD or SSD, or Network attached storage (NAS) vi...

Re: The secondary SD Card
I really don't see that happening, a Snac controller port dedicated to older analog devices would require another ADC. Other than a Tape drive (and the MiSTer has that as it's own dedicated add-on) what other devices are you trying to support The good news is that the MiSTer's ADC supports 8 channels, and only 2 are in use by the ADC board. I would rather see this worked into a second SNAC port. being close by the analog IO it would be great for analog snac devices. Re: Playstation Based Arcade Hardware
The lack of information is why MiSTer and other FPGA core devs buy up old boards, buy owner manuals, decap chips, and document their findings. And as the boards become less advance there less literature on what in the boards Late 70s to late 80s had great documentation on what going on with the board, you see wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, ect. The term scan lines is used too long to change now.
Even commercial games from retail calls the effects scanlines.

Re: The secondary SD Card
The I/O board with the 2nd SD card slot came early in the development cycle. Many of the early computer cores would load not from a hardrive or floppy drive image, thus the 2nd SD card was needed to load any files. That issue been worked around, and we nolonger rely on the 2nd SD card slot as much. It probably get used for potential development of ...

Re: Could We Ever Get 2/4/6 Slot MVS Emulation?
I have a Neo Geo 4 slot cabinet and was pondering if emulation of the multi slot system could be done. For those not aware, a real Neo Geo cabinet can have a 1/2/4/6 slot motherboard, usually with a matching marquee with exchangeable light-up mini marquees to tell you which game you're currently viewing/playing. When in attract mode, one can press...

Re: 32X
The tricky part of a 32X core would be that the 32X Unit has to take the Analog video input of the Genesis, overlay it's own graphics on top and then output the combined analog video. Reason the 32X works with the Mega SG is that you have to use the Analogue DAC to get Analogue video output, in which the 32X requires. The Mega SG isn't doing any 32...

Re: Composite Blend on Genesis core on all console cores?
The upcoming PS1 core (still in somewhat early development where more people are getting involved, after 2 years of amazing hard work by Laxer3a) will likely have a DIP switch for dithering on and off (it's already incorporated in the current code, which isn't natively running completely on the MiSTer yet, but many components of it are currently b...

Re: Converting MRA patches to IPS?
I don't see a easy way around it. I tried searching on my end and I got nothing to show. From what I understand the MRA is just a text file with pointers to the MAME Rom and the Arcade core, with the occasional settings and patch offset instructions. And our case the sfa3ce MRA has many lines of patch offsets expressed in hex. An ISP patch is a bin...

Re: Converting a Core into Real Hardware
Well if you got about $500K - 1 million+ USD you might be able to run a few hundred thousand ASIC chips from your FPGA core (these are of course minimums in terms of cost and run numbers) .. but I dont know anyone who has that kind of spare cash just at the ready, plus you have to of course find a chip fab company that will partner with you etc.. ...

Re: How do you power pc case fans without a motherboard for a MiSTer setup?
One thing I did fail to mention, there are Small 5 volt fans you can use, up to 80mm in size. Noctua does make a series of their Tan and Brown fan that runs of 5 volts They come in 40, 60, 80, 92, 120 and 140mm sizes. Many people use the Noctua NF-A4x10 5V as their default Mister cooling Fan. You can also look into fans intended for the Raspberry Pi.

Re: Possible to simulate NTSC dot crawl via filters?
I've already posted this in another thread, but a new retro gaming scaler with and HDMI input has been announced . I haven't seen any mention of specific MiSTer support, but features include slot masks and smoothing filters for HDMI-modded consoles. It could potentially offer more than the DE10-nano alone can. I doubt PixelFX would waste time with...

Re: Possible to simulate NTSC dot crawl via filters?
Again, I don't care about your thoughts and opinions, I wanted to know if it's possible. Theoretically sure, but you have to make major sacrifices. The DE 10 nano has no GPU, which means losing more critical features elsewhere. The ARM CPU is only 800mhz do don't expect anything from that. In Practicality, I am happy to say it's not worth the effo...

Re: Terasic DE10 Nano Price Increase
Corporate subsidies exist. It's how you aren't paying full price on a new Smart Phone when you sign up for a 5 year agreement. No one paying the actual full price of the De 10 nano would be if you tried to buy the components and make it yourself. Funny how a Dev board with a "stronger" FPGA sells for less for longer than what Analogue int...

Sounds like you got a Keyboard issue not a Bluetooth issue.
Once synced, you just need to do your controller mapping.
If the keyboard stops working mid mapping screen, it's not the bluetooth.

Re: Terasic DE10 Nano Price Increase
You all know this is a $300+ board right?
The only reason the DE 10 Nano was so cheap was because of the subsidies Intel provided for education and to promote FPGA technology.
And the subsidy is separate from the academic discount.
