Re: Any Way to Remove Games From MegaAGS?

Boot into Workbench, start Directory Opus, go to the AGS2 folder and delete any entry you don’t want.

Re: Core Sizes?

How it was made:

Download Quartus, download the core, open the .qpf, and press the green triangle. The output_files folder has a txt file that lists utilization.

Re: Core Sizes?

Is there any information on how big (LLEs, etc) current MiSTer cores are? I found one spreadsheet about that, but it looks outdated. I'm mostly interested in Console and Computer cores. I doubt that’s outdated (outside of missing some cores), they are unlikely to change massively in scale. But if you are looking for N64/PSX/Saturn, maybe MisterAdd...

Probably not. Maybe MT-32, but I don’t want to speak for Mr. Emu, who is doing the actual work. 😅

Most people had a Soundblaster equivalent, that’s what’s going to trigger their nostalgia. Anyone that knows what a MT-32 device is can probably find their way around the setup menus and save that as their setup.

Re: 0MHz DOS Collection 2024.03.20 Released

So now, we can launch either "Ultima VI" or "Ultima VI - MT32" from the Cores menu, at the cost of just 2 dummy 160K floppy images for the whole collection. Maybe using the support for the /shared drive in the core would be the better/easier way? That’s what we do for AmigaVision, it could just be a single file in that director...

Re: eXo/Flynn Top 300 DOS Pack Updates (Updated to 2.0.2 MyMenu) and Support

We are huge fans of the Top 300 collection, for the record! When people ask me what the difference is between the two, I usually say that the Top 300 collections is the best if you grew up on that platform, you want that DOS feeling on everything including the launcher with its metadata etc. 0MHz DOS collection is for people like myself, who only p...

Re: 0MHz DOS Collection 2024.03.20 Released

If possible, a big improvement re: packaging would be to keep the configurations (MGL, CFG) separate from the game .zip files, maybe in a single zip for all game configurations as the size is very small. That way, frequent configuration changes (e.g. for bugfixing) can take place without one having to redownload the entire game. This would break o...

Thanks! Filed as https://github.com/0mhz-net/0mhz-collection/issues/14

There are bound to be issues, there’s a lot of different configurations.

Ideally report them directly in the issue tracker, and we will get to them: https://github.com/0mhz-net/0mhz-collection/issues

Re: 0MHz DOS Collection 2024.03.20 Released

In AmigaVision, we use the /shared drive to communicate between the core/scaler and AmigaOS. ao486 supports the same kind of shared drive, I think. Anyway, seems like this should be its own new topic ;)

I assume MechWarrior 2 is outside of the capailities? I know I played it on my 486DX2-50, tho it plated a LOT better on my 486DX4-75 Laptop. I have a feeling this game needs that 80487 MathCo Processor.

Yes, think of it as a 486SX. Probably won’t run that game, certainly not well if at all.

Re: 0MHz DOS Collection 2024.03.20 Released

Why is an ao486 config file required? It seems shared by all games. Can we set it manually? I tried Alone in the Dark and it failed to run, and that's the only file I did not copy. It needs the ao486.cfg to ensure it runs with the correct settings, yes — you can of course adjust it to your liking after it’s been copied. They are all the same confi...

It is better than the Amiga version. ( sry )

You show Super Sprint, the capable-but-not-quite-the-arcade Atari ST port to Amiga. Try Turbo Sprint on AmigaVision/MiSTer instead to get something closer to the arcade 😄

(Of course, the GameCube had better have a perfect port, being of a much, much later generation)

Re: Would Like to See Supersprint Core

Amiga (via AmigaVision, I’m biased etc) has a port that is pretty much arcade-perfect. Look for “Turbo Sprint” for trademark reasons. Not sure if it supports wheels, though. On the arcade front, Super Sprint runs on the Atari System 2 (medium resolution) board, Atari System 1 games are already running on MiSTer, so given a bit of development, it sh...

Re: AmigaVision (MegaAGS) 2023.12.25 Released with Updated Game Configurations

This will be addressed in the upcoming AmigaVision release, for the record. PAL60 has generally been reset to PAL50, and I will selectively apply PAL60 or NTSC settings where it makes sense (DOS ports, Atari ST ports, US game studios), as well as 5×PAL scaling presets for games that were previously PAL60.

I stumbled across this. maybe it will help. Amiga Games at 50 fps https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=80207 Just for the record, this has nothing to do with 50hz/60hz as default, this is a list of games running at full frame rate (whether it is 50 or 60 fps), as opposed to what many games did, which was to run at 25/30 fps. Interesting list, of...

If you grew up with the NTSC versions, I’m guessing your best bet would be to look up the games on YouTube and make sure the music is not playing too fast. I can take care of identifying graphical glitches, as I know most of the Amiga library.

Re: AmigaVision (MegaAGS) 2023.12.25 Released with Updated Game Configurations

IMO, the correct procedure would be to simply set ALL games to PAL. Then go in and choose selectively only the few games like Wings or Defenders of the Crown that were made by US devs on NTSC machines, and set only those to NTSC. As it stands, it is Sysiphus work to change single games here and there back to PAL, because way too many games were se...
