No worries. I figured it was worth asking.

Re: Would a Super Game Boy core/function be possible?
I think the big problem with the SNES core is that it's close to full with all the other various mappers and hardware extensions. I would be interested in a core that forked off the SNES core with the sole purpose of implementing super game boy stuff with proper accuracy, though. I think it's fine ...

Re: Outboard MIDI
I have two little questions :-) 1) Is there a way of having both a MT-32 (or Pi-Midi) and a Sound Canvas (or Fluidsynth) with a single ao486 configuration (with different MIDI ports so that you can set those once and for all in games) ? 2) would be pretty happy with Munt running on the MiSTer -- it...

Would you be willing to ship to the US? If so, how much? (Colorado, 80501) I'd be interested in that IO board.

Re: Hardware Buttons without IO Boards
This is a great question! I've been meaning to figure it out, too. :) If those pins are correct, then all you need to do is connect one of the button's connectors to the appropriate pin and another one to Ground. Pushing the button 'momentarily' connects it to ground, which closes the circuit and te...

Re: Emulation available for Roland MT-32 or other more advanced sound cards?
Is this something with public code/binaries? It would be nice to have a more portable way to do UDP MIDI. I've got a couple single board computers that I'd like to test and see if they're up to the task. :D I just use the exact same MidiLink program that is included with MiSTer on the PI. https://m...

Guide: Setting up remote MIDI emulation (Midilink, Munt, Windows)
I wrote this up in the ao486 section, but it should be applicable to any core that can use Midilink should work with this. I couldn't find all the answers in one place, so hopefully this will help in the future: This guide will allow you to set up Munt, the Roland MT-32/CM-32L emulator, on a Windows...

Re: Emulation available for Roland MT-32 or other more advanced sound cards?
I don't have "MT-32 Pi" and I have not used the project. I find it interesting, but use my own RPi based MIDI solution that uses UDP vs physical MIDI adapters. Also, all of my best DACs are USB which it unfortunately does not support. Is this something with public code/binaries? It would be nice to...

Re: Emulation available for Roland MT-32 or other more advanced sound cards?
I would like to have this setup running with my crossover cable connecting my MiSTer directly to my PC, but when I tried it, I couldn’t get my MiSTer to recognize the connection. By convention, if a network device is connected and doesn't have contact with a DHCP server (which is what hands out IP ...

Re: Emulation available for Roland MT-32 or other more advanced sound cards?
One last thing to note, I did notice while using the MT-32 ROM with MUNT, there were a few hanging or skipped notes on occasion. It wasn't nearly as bad as when I tried using the MiSTer's built-in MUNT, but it was still noticeable enough. Is this something you have experienced, and if so, do you kn...

Re: request: squashfs in the linux kernel
Great work! Your update and mount scripts are finicky and didn't want to play nice with my system. I compressed all the data on my main Linux machine and transferred it onto my SD card. I managed to get everything working by reading your scripts and doing all the heavy lifting myself over an ssh te...

I got it working!! I just had to find the setting that lets you "listen" to the microphone input. Thanks to everyone who helped me out. Fantastic! Congratulations! I'm really glad you got it working. :D I see earlier you were talking about ROMs -- you can also use the CM-32L ROMs with Munt. They ha...

Re: Emulation available for Roland MT-32 or other more advanced sound cards?
In my setup, I have an HDMI to VGA adapter that has audio out, so I connect that audio into the Line In on my computer. Hmm... Maybe the path for the nano command wasn't quite right. I did check it, but who knows! Anyway, glad you got it sorted with the SD card. Your MiSTer is plugged in to your net...

Re: Emulation available for Roland MT-32 or other more advanced sound cards?
Oh and don't forget that you'll need to run audio from your MiSTer into your PC's line in just in case any games use both MIDI and OPL2/3 effects. For what it's worth, I set up this configuration on a Dell Venue 8 Windows tablet -- it's got some old quad core Atom Z3xxx and 2 GB of RAM and it ran gr...

Re: Emulation available for Roland MT-32 or other more advanced sound cards?
So, after playing Under a Killing Moon for a while with the SC-55 soundfont on the built-in Fluidsynth, it sounds way better than the Sound Blaster soundtrack, and it’s consistent, with no hanging notes. By the way, speaking of MUNT, I know the Raspberry Pi is a popular way to connect MUNT to the M...

Re: Linux Games
I like the idea of there being a "Linux Games" menu at the top of MiSTer. I like that bbond007 set up PrBoom-Plus to work with MiSTer, for instance. I'm also always down for a game of bzflag, assuming it can run. Saves me from building a Linux computer. :D Right now, to launch PrBoom-Plus, you have ...

Re: Emulation available for Roland MT-32 or other more advanced sound cards?
Actually, Roland MT-32 / CM-32L support is now built in to MiSTer thanks to Midilink . The Munt emulator runs on the Arm processor on the DE-10. You will need to supply your own copies of MT32_CONTROL.ROM and MT32_PCM.ROM by putting them into the /media/fat/linux/mt32-rom-data/ directory. After firi...

I was able to start up MechWarrior 1, but after trying to recruit people at the bar I get this lovely mess. Not sure if it's the game or something else.
The MT-32 sound comes through beautifully though!

Awesome list! Thanks for compiling it. I ran into trouble with Champions of Krynn and figured it out on my own, but I wish I had this list when I was looking!
