Re: Looking for a compatible 1440p monitor
yep, 1440p is the "golden rule" of resolutions re: ye olde 240p output. However, current manufacturers don't have retro gaming enthusiasts in mind, nor the MiSTer in particular, so making a contemporary panel to actually *work* is always a pain.

Re: Looking for a compatible 1440p monitor
Of course, every monitor does this for better or worse :) Problem is, they don't (mostly and commercially) have 50Hz as a native "preset" that can be set outside an OS without a specific driver implemented Listen, I'm running an 1440p monitor with the MiSTer, till I receive a VGA to SCART cable I've on order to be used on a couple of CRTs...

Re: Looking for a compatible 1440p monitor
Nice. Still needs a driver implemented inside the linux distro MiSTer is running on to be of any use

Re: Looking for a compatible 1440p monitor
Problem is, most of the WQHD panels on the market today won't handle 50hz @ 1920x1440 without having a driver to enforce that. For example my monitor (old ASUS PG278 series), can happily be set to the above profile inside Win10, but cannot do that "on its own" connected directly to the Nano board. You're better off setting the .ini to 720...

Re: Updated BBC Micro .MMB released
Eeh, I'm pretty dum as it seems; where do I put the .mmb archive (I've tried inside 'games' folder -no go). Please lend a hand, as I'd very much enjoy returning back to my youth with the beeb. [with BeebEM, it was pretty much a question of copying an image of the DFS of your choice, and then chaining, or *running the image file of any program] Can ...

Re: Show Us Your MiSTers
This is f'n awesome!!
Maybe a complete run down is in order? (well except for the proprietary .stl files of course, if you don't want to share)
[Edit] I mean what's the size of that LCD panel, specs, where'd you get it, speakers etc. Details man, details!

Re: Amplifier - DAC suggestions
Thanks everyone for your input! I've already ordered the device linked above; it's the only decent looking one I've found available locally for a reasonable price. I'm intending to use passive headphones [I already do plug them directly in the I/O board] rated @ ~100Ω. Some cores sound ok-ish, some don't, that's why I went around searching for an e...

The one I'm currently using:
*Dunno who's the original author, although I found someone by the name of "jackthedoggo", who's selling this on redbubble.

Amplifier - DAC suggestions
Are there any tips for a compatible type/brand of an external in-line amp out of the spdif/analogue line for the official I/O 6.1 board?
I reckon many of us who use current-day displays (not TVs), without integrated speakers for the MiSTer, would appreciate a hint or two.
Thanks for your answers

Re: Fan Supposed to be Running?
My bad; you're quite right actually! I tested again and the fan does indeed run @3.3V.
The quietness + the "rotoscope" kind of illusion under the enclosure's grille had me fooled

Re: Fan Supposed to be Running?
The IO board should have a jumper to set the fan voltage to either 5v or 3,3v. It´s right next to the fan header. Could have fallen of/forgot to install during building so check that it´s there. That was the exact solution in my case. My 6.1 I/O board came with no jumper caps whatsoever. I've scavenged a couple from old HDDs and whatnot, so I reme...

Re: antoniovillena.es
Hi Antonio,
Does your VGA to SCART cable (with integrated stereo out) work with the official 6.1 I/O board?
I'm asking because the CRT I'm planning to use with my MiSTer doesn't have a separate RCA audio line in, so offers from other sellers wouldn't be compatible to my particular case.
Thanks

Re: UltimateMiSTer.com
Hi Ricardo! Today I finally (******* postal service; they had it sitting in the local office for 3 days and I had to go pick it up myself) got the package and the MiSTer is beyond my wildest dreams! Works flawlessly! And when you say it's 'plug & play', you really mean it, don't you? 8-) It's got every single thing, be it scripts, unofficial co...

Re: CAVE 68000 Any News for Mister
This announcement was what prompted me in to looking at the MiSTer, someone posted it on the r/shmups subreddit and when I saw most of the computers and consoles I had as a kid were implemented along with ones I could have only dreamed of owning I had to get one 8-) +1 (I'm secretly hoping though, someone's got already his paws on Toaplan v2 hardw...

Re: UltimateMiSTer.com
Hello lamarax In last update I have removed the DB9 cable that was included in bundle by default. In place i've added the 4A PSU. I think cables being optional could work better. In your bundle it's included the cable and if your already have the PSU coming, could be a better deal :) Hey, no probs! The DB9 cable might be a boon actually, though I'...

Re: UltimateMiSTer.com
Hello there Ricardo, While waiting for my stuff (the "ultimate MiSTer PRO BlisSter edition") to arrive, I've noticed that you've restocked on those and are now offering the Noctua fan + the 4A Mean Well PSU as standard for the same price as before. Any chance that you've retrofitted mine with those before shipping? I only ordered just a w...
