Re: N64 Core

Does anyone know if rumble is supposed to be working yet? I have tried, but can't get it to be detected, such as in Quake 64. I have it enabled in the core menu.

Just curious, does anyone know if this core requires an SDRAM module? The old core always impressed me because it is one of the few that did not.

Re: N64 Core

Games don't draw black lines. The black lines exist because in 240p the game keeps drawing over the same line every time. The black lines exist because nothing is ever being drawn to them. Yes! This is correct, and I was thinking about it wrong the second time too. I forgot about this. That is why the image is so vivid too, compared to interlaced....

240p is not limited to 30. It is 60 full progressive frames every second. 480i is 60 fields per second.

Rethinking about it, you are right. It draws all the lines, whether they are black or not, 60 times per second. Edit, I am wrong again, see below.

Re: N64 Core

30 FPS is full speed. TV's running in 240p mode are 30 Frames Per Second. In 480i mode, they are 60 Fields Per Second. Edit: Oops, I thought about this wrong. It is a 240 line progressive frame that is drawn onto 60 times per second.

Caching. It should make everything run much faster, and maybe realtime. I haven't tried it yet. See the video I linked above showing the framerate of Super Mario Kart.

I was thinking and hoping that the caching might be coming next/soon, and it looks to be happening!

This will make the games so much more playable. I was playing and enjoying NHL 99 last night, and wishing it had caching. I am looking forward to the next release!

This might be a nice alternative. I don't have one, so I can't say for sure, but most likely it would work: https://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/d ... /index.php

Re: N64 Core

I am using all NTSC USA games on my CRT and everything is working fine that works with the core and no scaler. I occasionally get the squished menu, but that is when there is no game loaded yet, or a game that doesn't work yet has been loaded. The Ms Pacman game is squished horizontally. I don't know if it uses a different video mode. I had the BIO...

The Start and '-' didn't work for me, but fiddling with it using the B and pairing button on the back eventually got the top and bottom lights lit up and everything worked great! I really like this controller. I already ordered the Tribute 64 controller, and I will probably just keep it because it w...

WOW. 275 is a lot :-) I tried CTRL-P (CTRL Shift P) and it did switch to joystick but the joystick was always steering to right. Tried every combination, no luck. Can someone tell me how to switch to Joystick on the game Bandits? According to the Boxart, Joystick is supported but I don't get it working. On Loderunner e.g. you have to press CTRL-J... but I did not find any hint on (Apple)-Bandits. This is super awesome progress, and so fast! Even I was convinced by the naysayers that N64 would never happen, and I am one who pushes the envelope of believing in what is theoretically possible while debating with the naysayers in most cases. Even if this is not 100% cycle accurate, it will probably be better than any emulator out there in most u...

Re: Avoid AntonioVillena’s Products at All Cost

I really like my iousb mini6 because it has full 888 RGB and digitally converted high quality analog audio output on it. I only have two issues that I can live with. I can't seem to run long wires to the three I/O buttons (reset, OSD, User) and have them work properly (and I tried some extensive stuff to get it to work to no avail), so I have to us...

Re: Which way are scanlines supposed to go when in Tate mode?

The scanlines rotate when the screen rotates. Take a TV and tip it 90 degrees on its side. It doesn't change the way it draws the scanlines all of a sudden because it is on its side.

In this version I am trying to figure out write protect. I think it will write protect D1 and/or D2 based on the OSD.

Thanks for continuing to work on and perfect this awesome core! For the write protect, you should just be able to code in a piece of tape I think. ;-)

Re: Apple II Core

Right but the core also support hard drives - you can just mount a 32MB hard drive and store whatever you want in it :D Yeah, I already transferred all my important stuff from my floppies to a hard drive image. It's just nice to have the option to use 3.5" disks for the sake of completeness of the core and being able to use any disks with it....

Re: Apple II Core

I don't want to end up in a situation like the NES where we need palette files to cater for everybody :) For 800K disks I wonder if we could convert them to hard drive instead; but it's a niche use case - like the Z80 card. In general (MiSTer Main), it would be cool if there were color controls like saturation, etc. that could be saved per core. M...

The loadable ROM is to switch built-in languages. (snip) As for features: No-slot clock feature is already there, Alan already added it. Mouse would be neat, but I understand it's a lot of work to get running. Overclock to 4Mhz (Apple IIc+) and 2Mhz (Apple IIe card) would be great (but not sure if feasible) I'd personally like to tweak colors a bi...

Re: VGA Mode Changing for 720x400 and 640x400

The core stays at 70.1. Whatever you call it, it would be a timing mismatch and possibly cause minor display issues especially during motion. I don't know if the scaler would skip frames (judder) or start drawing a new frame in the middle of it's current frame (tearing).

This builld adds "F2" for a soft reset button (which is also on the mister hardware), an OSD to change the Video rom between US and Local (hardcoded to UK for local right now). Also defaults to 65C02 unless you had saved settings, in which case you will want to fix it and re-save your settings. Not sure how I missed this, but thanks so m...
