Re: ESP Ra. De. Public Core
If you ask me it's unoptimized code in the game it self and not the Original Hardware. I see similar slow downs on other arcade boards "Unoptimised" is an odd way of putting it. The developers knew exactly how capable the hardware was - the slowdown in these games is intentional. Well nether of us know the devs actual intensions and thou...

Re: ESP Ra. De. Public Core
Seems to play well. A couple slow downs spotted, but a lot of cave's boards slow down in in particular parts. Will be interesting to hear from the super-players what they think. Slowdowns are present in emulators too so it´s likely an issue of the original hardware. If you ask me it's unoptimized code in the game it self and not the Original Hardw...

BIN/CUE and CHD are the two formats that are supported.
Bin/Cue from my understanding is standard and CCD/IMG/SUB, NRG, and MDF/MDS aren't supported as CD image files.

Re: Filters, Shadowmask and LCDs
Well those last Zelda screenshots look banded as hell, far from what they are on a crt, also if on screenshot some of these looks pretty decent (they really do), the difference in motion and real life usage is just staggering... That mostly your web browser resizing the image creating the artifacts. Its why Streamers often avoid scanlines in the s...

Re: Interlaced analog output support
So I am going to oversimplify and gloss over alot here The way NTSC and PAL works, the various signals with in video not just be at the right frequency but also have the right timing. Especially with NTSC, the whole video signal is built around what signals activate at what time. Sync instructions, color burst, ect has precise timings when each sig...

Re: Sonic 2 multiplayer and Scandoubler
The Multiplayer mode of Sonic 2 switched from "240p" to 480i to fit the split screen image into a 4:3 frame.
I do notice it causes some issues with some displays, as the Display's built in Deinterlace can do a ugly job of Deinterlacing.

Re: Sinden Lightgun - Border Support
Wonder if a RPi Zero 2 would be powerfully enough to do the the camera processing, then maybe the next version of the Sinden could have RPi Zero build into it and remove the need for external devices I doubt it as a Rpi 4 is required, the Rpi is not quite enough power. The external device for the Sinden would also support original hardware console...

Re: GBC Rumble Support
Game boy Color, Game Boy Advance, PS1 are the only cores I can think of that had native Rumble support. perhaps irritating maze for neogeo which had air jets that made noise and stuff could be replaced by rumble. I dont know if that game is even playable on mister. Original game uses a trackball, but there is hacks/edits to use a joystick instead. ...

The Sinden Lightgun as of now only works on a modern PC with compatible emulators. A deticated Raspberry Pi 4 would be needed for MiSTer or console use.

Re: MiSTer Not In A Shell Static Shock From My Finger Fried It
With the old SD card, you should check if it is actually writable. Sometimes if there is a problem, SD cards will basically turn read only. The way to check this is to open the mister.ini file, change something save it, close the editor and then open it again. If the changes kept then its probably fine. Just reflash the SD card and see if it boots...

I've set it to US and the playing speed is correct. I brought that one up as it's the most common, even the experts made that mistake That's probably it (I hope), bad timing would explain the "tremble" effect. Re: TMSS BIOS
I have the TMSS ROM set as my boot.rom to kinda replicate the real thing. It loads just fine, but it causes some annoying flickering as it sees itself as a cartridge and loads itself infinitely. is it possible to modify the ROM to disable the cartridges load so it just stays on the copyright text? I am sure there has to be a way to do so. And this...

Re: 8BitDo M30 2.4G Cloned inputs & Button not Registering?
The Star button is not an input, it's used to toggle turbo on other button inputs. There no way to remap the Star button as it's hardwared in the controller. The M30 2.4G version was made with the Genesis in mind, and all other uses were an afterthought. The Minus and Heart/home button does the same thing, the same button is duplicated and only act...

Re: Awful sound?
Does the games sound and play too slow? Make sure you aren't running Genesis games in PAL mode. The core has a US, JP and PAL regions, I would set everything to US by default, unless you got a soft spot for the unoptimized PAL region games of the 80s and 90s. You will want the SD ram module when you have a chance. Using the DDR3 for the core will p...

Re: 1440p monitor: flat or curved?
So this is just my prefence, but I say unless you got a large display with a number of on-lookers/people watching go for Flat Panel. I admit Curved screens got good viewing angles. As for GSync/Free Sync? The Adaptive-Sync technology will help with the variable frame rates you get with various cores, you can more of the native refresh rates in syst...

I got multiple game pads to connect to the MiSTer via the same Generic Bluetooth Dongle. The only BT device that don't do multiple devices is the 8Bitdo receiver, and it acts as if it was a wired controller as far as the MiSTer is concerned. I only assume BT Audio don't work as it's lacking in the back end/Linux Side or it's the limitations of the...

Re: MiSTer Won't Turn On
It worked! Now I get a black screen if I choose any of the games in the menu. I'm guessing that's because the device doesn't ship with ROMs. Are there any ROMs included at all so I can give one a try? Is it possible to only show menu items for games that have ROMs? BTW should the background of the menu be a sort of scrambled black and white patter...

Re: ISO support has gone - for good?
Use something like Daemon Tools to mount your ISO image Then use Imgburn to create an Image from a Disc and choose to save as bin/cue format I also just found this, but I haven't used it myself yet https://github.com/vicboma1/chdman-convert-iso-cue-to-chd-nec-turbografx-cd-for-mess There a iso to chd bat file that might streamline the whole process.

Snac will always have limitations. It's not the "do-all, all-purpose" port everyone like to think it is. Its a direct digital interface with the FPGA. FPGA technology don't really do analog (or at least not very well) hence why there a ADC and a DAC. You want flexibility, you want to use then external USB devices and USB adaptors. It's ho...
