Re: Terasic DE10 Nano Price Increase

What would a custom board look like? Edge connector for console cartridge addons? Rear facing IO with PC style Stacked USB ports, built in high speed 32MB ram and expandable high capacity ram port. Duel Snac ports possibly DB-9? Built in Difficulty / Black and white, select and resest button breakouts for cases?

Re: Old Sun, SGI, DEC?

I wouldn't mind a symbolics LM-2 with a Space Cadet keyboard. A sparc machine would be interesting. I don't know where the limit would be but possibly easier to have these RISC machines replicated on FPGA than the complex CISC platform like the AO486 core.

Yeah, I keep on setting default area to US and settings don't seem to save. Every time I load Streets of Rage 2 it says this games was designed for a different region and I have to switch the settings and reboot the core.

Well we can blame, Joe Biden and his inflationary budgets, the chip shortage and Drought in Taiwan, the rising popularity and mainstream attention brought to this project, the Federal reserve and over 1% compound monthly inflation. And the rising expenses of shipping containers, shipping and general logistics that is plaguing everyone. Seeing as In...

add 2600 support with an entirely new implementation Kitrinx I just did my Tapper test on my CRT with the new core and holy crap, you actually did it! Once video stabilizer is turned off my CRT plays tapper jitter free and everything is working just like on my actual hardware. Re: Jotego Confirms CPS3 / PGM / Mortal Kombat

This doesn't mean Jotego is moving on from the Sega System Arcade hardware does it? I wish for him to hit System 32. I can wait for any potential CPS3 or MK if it means I get Spider-Man the Video Game Arcade! I don't know I just know about the 2 MK based boards and CPS3 as shown in this post. Super scaler would be great but I don't know of any one...

Re: Jotego Confirms CPS3 / PGM / Mortal Kombat

Did Jotego say anything about the Wolf board? Since it uses the same CPU, it seems like a natural progression would be Y, T, and Wolf. X and Z are lower priority, and V Unit seems too powerful. Did not say that but I assume that it may be a priority after CPS3 is finished MK1 boards seem to be a priority right now. It definitely would make adding ...

So I got confirmation from Jotego that he intends to do both Y and T unit hardware for MK just don't know which one will be attempted first. So if you are a smash TV fan or NBA Jam fan there is much greatness ahead.

Re: Tutorial How to build a MiSTerFPGA Daemonbite Adapter [With Eng Subtitles]

So far I have build a Daemonbite Arcade stick with real coin mech. I have build a Sega genesis 2 player, NES 2 player and a SNES 2 player adapter. I am very happy with all of the results. I basically cannibalized extension cables for my ports uses a multi-meter to figure out the pins and encased the project in electrical tape for cable strain and e...

Glad you found something that works for you, but I’m surprised by this. I’ve had a Hori Fighting Commander for years and put dozens (hundreds?) of hours of fighting game gameplay into it and it still feels new. Ends up my go to for MiSTer because it’s super responsive and the d-pad and buttons all feel great. Yeah I guess it may be down to a bad b...

Re: Best Controller Setup For MiSTer?

Hori Fighting Commander for ps3/ps4/pc is the best controller for me. Super versatile, has a home button, shoulder buttons and a solid d-pad. It's a wired controller which I still generally prefer when playing games Was going to get that but then saw reviews of it breaking within a month. That is why I went with the Daemonbite sega genesis adapter...

Re: Atari 2600

Possibly the RF encoding smooths over some problem then. In this case the vsync, vblank, are not ambiguous. There's a register and when it's set, they are on within a couple of pixel clocks. The hsync and hblank are very predictable and the whole system will break if they are off even the tiniest bit. I don't think it is the RF as the picture when...

It may be your television just not liking the odd signal from tapper, it's very close if not identical to 480i, where each field alternates between a full scanline and a half scanline when the vsync begins. Re: Atari 2600

Off isn't the right word. The video is perfectly accurate, especially if you turn off the stabilization feature. The problem is the console wasn't well designed, and the game code had to worry about the vertical video timings, so they do chaotic things. The stabilizer does it's best to understand the intent of the games and make them work on a mod...

Re: Strange behavior of the NeoGeo Core

Two things unplug the whole Mister from the wall wait a minute and plug it back in. Do a RAM test also. See what it says. If the RAM is bad it might be the case where the other consoles work because their ROMs are too small to end up on a bad block but NEO GEO games are big and fill up some of the RAM chips entirely so if it is bad it will look lik...

Re: Cheap Arduinos for Daemonbite adapters

I have the device wrapped up in electrical tape and it is so light falling will not damage it. While strain may be a problem if you have a long enough USB cable it won't matter as it will be resting on the floor and won't be strained. I am not worries and especially with the arcade board as it is enclosed in a box and protected.

Well maybe a specialized fork where you strip down extra features to fit it like the 2 player gameboy or GBA cores could make this feasible.

No, this is for special graphics cards that have support for this. The IO board doesn't output chroma or luma signals needed for s-video and does not output composite as well. Re: Holy Grail Display for MiSTer?

I would say a high res VGA monitor for CRT or a 1440p display as that has the most perfect integer scales from the various cores including 480p but said monitor needs to support the 4x3 resolution input. Some gaming monitors can and will do this pretty good.
