Tempest 2000 plays briefly - seems to crash on power up collection I think
I don't think anything in particular triggers the crash, I think it's just a timing issue.

VGA Output VS Direct Video for Analog Video

I have a couple of questions about this.

First of all, is the difference between 18bit and 24bit all that noticable? I can't imagine it is, though for the sake of accuracy, 24bit sounds appealing.

I also notice there is now a Digital I/O board that frees up GPIO1. Does this mean the "analog" I/O board will eventually not be supported?

Re: No logo starting at the Gameboy Core (kinda)

mic_ wrote: Tue Jun 02, 2020 3:55 pm The Nintendo logo is stored as 48 bytes in the header area of the game cartridge. So it's not stored on the Gameboy itself.
Hence why on a real Gameboy if the logo is corrupted, the game won't load as it's an indicator the Gameboy is not reading the cartridge correctly.

Re: Savegames randomly stop working.

I'm actually a bit confused by the sram save behaviour. When the sram has data (I imagine has changed) the green led lights up and goes out when the menu is accessed. I assume this is then saving to the sd card. My question is, why wait to save until the menunis accessed? Is there a reason this is a manual process? I don't think there are many game...

JT49 PSG update

There was an update to the PSG in JT49 which should fix incorrect behaviour in the neo geo core (and many others) made apparent by the jingle in most older games and various other places in other games.

Wasn't sure if this was overlooked but should be simple to update to this version by just pulling it in.

A few years ago they were quite affordable. Everything old is expensive now unless you're very lucky.

It's quite sad really.

Re: Arcade Forge MiSTer RGB SCART PCB

I wasn't saying scart was a bad choice, just that it's not exactly weildy on MiSTer.

I can't see it being too stable with a massive connector hanging off it like that.

If you like your MiSTer pointing up then fine but I like mine horizontal.

I don't see the point when it can be right in the core menu without the need for extra components.

Re: Arcade Forge MiSTer RGB SCART PCB

It's a bit daft having a full size scart on there, a much better idea would be a mini din or psx av socket. I'd miss the other I/O board extras like buttons and user I/O port.

I wonder if they tie the RGB and sync to 75ohms? I've needed to do this for a couple of my TVs.

The CD music on Last Resort was amazing.

There were lots of extras like CG galleries that you didn't get on carts too.

Re: Add on board for Analog CRT centering and protection?

Generally speaking i don't see a need to add such features for devices not in production already. Just wait several years more - they will die all :) I have a Sony Trinitron produced in 1983 which will probably outlive me. Pretty much all CRTs will have an off centre RGB image as they are designed for broadcast signals which carry extra informatio...

Re: Atari Jaguar and Neo Geo low latency USB adapters

I don't have a store, I am planning to make some pcbs at some point though so I may offer some up for sale but all will be freely available so people can make their own. They should be very low latency just like the other adapters that are on the mister git, lower than a lot of other, commercial adapters. I've not the means to test the input lag wi...

Atari Jaguar and Neo Geo low latency USB adapters

Hey guys,

Not sure if I've done it correctly but I added a PR to the repo for the above, both are tested and work well, though I could probably tidy up Neo Geo a little.

Let me know if there's anything I need to do, I plan to add a few other controllers down the line and maybe support the jag pro pad/spinner controller once the Jag core matures.
