Re: SNAC2IEC Adapter PCB (Connect Commodore Floppy to MiSTer)

Please measure the voltages when the adapter is connected to the MiSTER
between GND and LV and
between GND and HV at the Level-Shifter
without a connected drive.

Do you use a USB Male-Female Cable?
If yes, is it 1:1 and USB 3.0?

//Edit
Are you sure your IEC Cable works?

Funny matches
Thx for reporting.

If no exact matching picture exist we look for alternatives.
Works fine normally.

The core name of the Moon Alien core is „moonaln“.
And the first slightly matching picture was „mo“ which is the one for the thomson.

We will take a look.

Re: tty2oled Soft&Hardware Add-On (Shows Core based Pictures on a Display)

Great!

The previously chosen 8266 Pin for the AutoRotation Feature was not the best choice as the Pin has not all needed features.
The new Pin works as expected.

I will release a new stable soon.

... no, the option rotation does not work... I have uploaded the tty2oled TEST VERSION 221208T. Let's see if this fixes your Problem. I have changed the 8266 Tilt/Autoration Pin from Pin 16 (D0) to Pin 10 (SD3). See here for a 8266 Pinout: https://www.instructables.com/NodeMCU-ESP8266-Details-and-Pinout/ As far as I know No Pre-Made 8266 based Dis...

ok if its not the cable problem, why do all commands work but rotation not?

My Opinion: There is a issue with the auto-rotation Input Pin on your display.
I will see if I can disable the auto-rotation function for the 8266.

Re: tty2oled Soft&Hardware Add-On (Shows Core based Pictures on a Display)

The display software read one pin of the 8266 for automatic display rotation.
If the pin is at low level the display will start rotated.
For the 8266 we use Pin 16.
Normally the Pin should be unused and at high voltage level 3.3v.

Are you able to check the Pin Voltage Level?

Your choice.

I think two (or more) small Disks should be more compatible for all ROMs.
How do you create these little Disk Images?
And here is a “Thank You” in advance

I have the same issue using FreeDos with the Micro8088 Rom at 4.77MHz.
PCXT, Turbo XT and JukoST are Ok.

Maybe you can add the Tools from

Or is the Image too big then?

Re: RTC Support Via I/O Port 240h

Many Thanks for the RTC Support but I can't open Floppy Images any more.
Tested with PCXT_20221202.rbf, the PCXT Rom, 4.77MHz and the FreeDos HD Image.

And booting PCXT shows

Code: Select all

640 KB OK
601
ERROR. (RESUME ="F1" KEY)

The older Version PCXT_20221124.rbf works correct.
Maybe only my issue?

At the same Core Config Dialog were you choose the System-ROM (XT/Tandy) you can choose the IDE-ROM
which will be used if no IDE-ROM is integrated into the used System ROM.

If you copy content from github to an editor you need to make sure your line endings are set to linux/unix or you get weird results.

Re: tty2oled Soft&Hardware Add-On (Shows Core based Pictures on a Display)

As long as the MiSTer system writes the right value into the /tmp/CORENAME file the Second Screen Systems can show a logo as long as a matching picture exists.
It doesn‘t matter if this is done by a core directly, by a mgl file or manual manipulation by a shell script.

We use this functionality for showing the update logo or a logo for ScummVM.

Re: SNAC2IEC Adapter PCB (Connect Commodore Floppy to MiSTer)

You don’t really need to add one.
But I am powering my attached sd2iec or pi1541 from this power connector.
I this case i need to power the MiSTer with more than 5v to get around 5v at this jack.
