Re: OK to share custom core builds?
I've got a bunch of ideas, but here's what I've done so far: Changed around some values and menu options in the NES, SNES, Genesis, and MegaCD cores to enable integer scaling at 1440p, see this post for more details on what I'm trying to accomplish. Made a small change to the GBA core (more specifically, the MiSTer framework code within the GBA co...

Re: The VIC 20
No, it has a nice mechanical keyboard but nothing as fine as a Vic 20 unit.
See?
There are people who will absolutely LOVE this new machine.

Re: The VIC 20
Is this a joke? The full-size 64 model supports VIC-20 - the only difference (in terms of the machine or the included joystick) is the color of the plastic. Not a joke. As you stated, it is simply a matter of using different color plastic so I guess they are just throwing this one out there for the people who loved the Vic 20. They aren't all that...

Re: CAVE 68000 Any News for Mister
You are right but don't think that makes you the only naked guy in a bare room with only a MiSTer.XtraSmiley wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 2:21 pmNo pocketed because I don't waste money on "clothes" or "looking normal". ALL my money on RETRO GOODNESS!!!!
That being said, my post is a bit tongue in cheek too, I don't think the MiSTer user base is super large right now.

Re: Noob questions from Defender and Robotron fan
Maybe that's the issue. MiSTer is not emulation though, there is a difference between FPGAs and emulations. There are some great devs working on arcade cores so maybe post an issue on the Github about that. I wouldn't go by sound on a youtube video to determine the accuracy of the sound of arcade machines though. You'll need to hear it directly fro...

Re: Arcade Controller
In the context of this thread, though, it may be misleading to newcomers to not specifically point out that with such a stick you may end up with Input lag, mediocre buttons soldered directly to the PCB, non-standard size buttons that cannot be replaced with better quality parts easily, cheap plunger buttons, stock levers with cheap springs that l...

Re: Jotego Update June 5th
The regular update script works fine so I suggest not bothering with the RetroDriven one.
If jotegos scripts is a problem then manually update stuff, it's not too many cores but
I did use his script last week and had no problems.
Might be some .ini file issues...

Re: Pre-Feature Request: Split MRAs into folders
BTW: There is a script from amoore2600 out there that does that: https://github.com/MAME-GETTER/_arcade-organizer There's your solution. Use the script if you want that and let us regular people not have to learn every detail of the arcade machines. I am thankful for those who do the hard work of making the cores and have to learn all that but do ...

There are cheap controllers on aliexpress that do work with MiSTer that looks like this:
Nothing fancy and they can be upgraded is you choose. I paid around $25 shipped but it was a few years ago.

Re: Game Gear Micro
Looks like they are going to sell them for $50 each with 4 different models.
Let's see what hackers find out about them once they get their hands on them but at $50 each
they are still on the high side price wise though you can't eat for two people for 50 bucks in a halfway decent restaurant...

Re: Audio Volume Control
I have some computer speakers connected to the audio out jack because HDMI audio varies by core.
Lately it has been much better but some are very loud, others moderate, and some none.
This setup gives me audio no matter what but as stated already, in general volume is good.

Re: EDSAC core
How about some other PDP machines?
There are no emulators out there for the elusive and very rare PDP-2!
But seriously, the PDP-8, 10, and 11 are doable and there's FPGA code out there for all of those.
