Re: MiSTer Feature Expansion Idea

Well, you could definitely follow the progress of RobSmithDev on YouTube. He got an Amiga floppy working: https://youtu.be/_MYw0lLerBA Definitely possible, just ask yourself - is it worth it to have that many disks floating around? I for one would be happy with disk "sounds" 😁 This isnt about connecting a Disk Drive to the Mister. The id...

Re: Saturn Core Does Not Launch Games

Boot rom should be called boot.rom not boot.bin

For best compatabiliity a 2.9 or 3.0 Ram is needed. 2.5 tends to give scratchy sound. The Ram must also be the 2 chip variety. 4 chip Ram will not work with the core.

Re: MiSTer RePlay - A Beginner's Complete Guide + Classic Games

I've programmed a little MiSTer website in my spare time. Every month I take a look at a classic game, available to play on the MiSTer FPGA: Mr. RePlay At the time of launch there are articles on Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man, Pooyan, Burnin' Rubber, Moon Patrol, and Mario Bros. MiSTer FPGA - A Beginner's Complete Guide There's also a beginner friendly, but...

Ebay is often just Ali Express boards with a Markup. Its always best to use one of the recognised resellers. They have customer support

Also where did you get your boards. A recognised seller or cheapo Ali Express ?
As AngelicLiver said. The IO leds need no additional conection other than the standard ones to the DE10. On first boot the red and green LEDS should flash in an alternate manner.

Re: Choosing a New Power Supply For MiSTer

I would go for the Meanwell. Its globally available via digikey and Mouser.

The output is not the important thing with a power supply. Its the stability of the supply under load. The Meanwell is excellent. Ali Express ones may well say 4A 5V bnut then dip badly under load

Re: MiSTer Feature Expansion Idea

I have 12 C64s of various types. 5 odd 1541. All of them have now been in the Attic for years. Its simply more of a pain to get them out and set up, hope the power supply isnt in kill the C64 mode than simply fire up winVice or the Mister. If I ever do get the real C64 set up I always use a pi 1541. Its just so much more reliable than the 1541 and ...

Anyone with real HW is more than likely going to have a Real 1541 or the already existing alternatives.

That's weird. Did you make sure that you emulating a 68020 with no FPU and did you double check the kickstart rom?

oOo i thought since it was an a500 i was emulating it needed to be a 68000..?

A500 was 68000 not a 68020. 68020 were fitted in the A1200

Re: Konami & N64 beta cores suddenly not working...

Update_all and the N64 core is a double edged sword. The new N64 cores sometimes require an unstable Mister Main. This is not covered by adding the line to the downloader.ini. If you ever get black screen first thing to cehck is if the core now needs an unstable Mister Main

RetroCastle does sell SNAC adapters, but I don't see the level shifter.
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803697539804.html

I assume their PS1 SNAC would be safe to use without it though, since PS1 controllers use 3.3v.

His adaptor has them built into the board

With an RTC if its not functioning the Mister will have the wrong day/time. Update_all requires a correctly set date to function. You should always wait for either the Mister to gte its time either from the RTC or the Internet before running update_all

Interesting, how would one of these work? Do you plug it into the MiSTer to essentially give it an antenna receiver for better connection?

Yes it plugs into the USB port and is a standalone BT with an antenna. You could aslo try a short usb cable to move your existing BT adaptor away from the mister

Snac is really just for obscure controllers and lightguns. A Daemonbite will be sub 1 m/s lag and is usable in the main Menu Homemade https://github.com/MickGyver/DaemonBite-Retro-Controllers-USB Only European Seller I know https://ultimatemister.com/product-category/daemonbite-adapters/ Snac is limited to the core its connected to. Re: SNAC adapter with USB on both sides?

Why they may appear to work you are risking damage to the DE10 or the Controller. The level shifters take the voltage being supplied or coming in and adjust it to the logic level of the device. Without them you could be ewither undervolting the controller or overvolting the DE10. Yeah, I understand that. Unfortunately it's not very articulated any...

But the board itself is the standard snac board. Without it you’ll get no snac functionality. The problem is, all my controllers work without it just fine, this is why i'm asking. I've tried NES, NES Zapper, SNES, Genesis and PC Engine. Though I've heard that some users have problems with NES controllers without it. Why they may appear to work you...

I would not recomend Bliister. To get the low latency with that you have to use Forked Cores. Any forked core reliant thing runs the risk of the forked cores being behind the real cores. It's basically USB through an HDMI, and you can turn on fast USB polling. I've had no issues with it and I can use any controller on the OSD and any core. Thats n...
