Re: Noobie MiSTer questions after doing some research
3. Does the MiSTer run everything off the SD card in terms of the cores, OS and MiSTer versions, etc. or does contents of the SD card actually change something on the MiSTer on a hardware level or I should say, internally somewhere on the MiSTer or is the SD card the heart and soul? ie. If I mess something up with the new 256gb SD card install, po...

Re: What do I need to run single arcade games at 15khz resolutions?
Most of the arcade games run correctly without an SDRAM module. You don't have to use the Analog I/O board for 15Khz output; you can use an HDMI to VGA adapter on the HDMI port. I personally use a VGA to SCART adapter to connect it to a 15Khz display, but I am in Europe where most non-HDMI 15Khz displays have an RGB SCART connection. So your minim...

Re: Apple II Core
Maybe for the UK cores, the keyboard layout is 'part of the thing,' but with Apple 2, there were all kinds of keyboard layouts, and they eventually evolved towards the PC style layout in the end. I prefer the PC layouts myself. The PC emulators I use mostly use PC layouts, and it's a quirk of mister, hunting around in oddball cores to find where t...

I have also been in discussions with alanswx. He is close to booting the same core. Yes [I will double confirm this with Gary but his source code is free now - its just a bit hard to find. I think between alanswx me we will get it working. -Stan Hi, you say it is available and open but hard to find. Why not give a link to it if you have found it. ...

If it isn't super expensive, and has RGB input it would be worth playing with. Should be able to resell it easily if you don't need it.

Hi, Is this topic for discussing about updates or corrections suggested to the wiki ? (without the risk of being yelled "Just fix it yourself if you are not happy with it!") A small remark : sometimes informations are spread across 2 (official) sources, and one of them is not up to date. For example, I tried to build my SDRAM XDS v2.9 mo...

Re: New hardware platforms for MiSTer?
Commercialization / making money is not my objective. I am interested in, and pitching the idea for, a MiSTer in a Nintendo classic mini / Super NT form factor, maybe something for arcade too (if not already existing, the feedback from alanswx is helpful). This would never work in an 'open source' approach, like sharing the schematics/gerbers/STEP...

Re: New hardware platforms for MiSTer?
There are a few mister projects based on the de10-nano that accomplish your goals. They are a bit or an extreme design because they have to plug into the dev board. Jammix, mistercade, and there is a console now too.

Re: A couple of questions on the Sharp MZ core
The writing might be broken in the MiSTer binary. Interesting, send me a list of Sharp MZ basic commands and I will see if I can reproduce it. 1) This is just a keyboard problem, I just cannot find the cursor keys. I did find all the other keys. 2) I wrote a short BASIC program, and tried to save it: 10 PRINT "TEST" RUN TEST READY SAVE &...

Re: A couple of questions on the Sharp MZ core
I am using the Sharp MZ core (dated 21.07.09) in the Sharp MZ-80K configuration, using the SP-1002 monitor ROM and BASIC SP-5025 from a .mzf file. 1. I cannot find the cursor keys. I found the SML/CAP key (Backspace), the INS/DEL key (Caps Lock), the CLR/HOME key (Tab) and the BREAK key (the key above Tab, left of 1), but no trace of the cursor ke...

Re: Sharp MZ
Try the new core, dated 21.07.09: it now supports HDMI, and it loads .mzf tape files without errors. I updated the core to fix the timing, and add HDMI. I fixed a bug that was introduced into the MiSTer binary. It works, but should be reworked to be more of a standard core with standard OSD. Let me know how much interest there is in this core.. I ...

Re: Coco 2 + Mantra Alice + Dragon 32/64
Is there any way to save to (virtual) tape on the Dragon/CoCo core? And are there any plans for (virtual) disk support (DragonDOS)? I would like to put my real Dragons away, and use the MiSTer as my main Dragon (that’s how well it works, and it’s so easy to bring with me), but that means I must have a way to save to either disk or tape. Anyone who...
