Re: Anyone know what these new Adaptive Scanlines are?

This looks GREAT. I've been waiting for this, and making plans to do my self on my next break if it hadn't happened already. I'll find something else to do with my time. Whoever did this, thank you.

Re: New Feature For Neo Geo Core

The attitude seen so often on so many retro forums (granted the MiSTer forum usually has less of it) sucks shit, honestly just makes me sad. At the end of the day, hardware recreation (via FPGA in this case) is usually all about accuracy and conservationism (sadly needed due to originally manufactured device failure with continued use, and increase...

Re: C64 Joystick Issue

Yes it appears that the latest core has broken the joystick. However, I only have an issue when running .prg on the c64 .crt seem to work still (although I needed to re-define buttons for it. This has me intrigued as I've written a c64 program in machine code just to read the joystick port and it somehow doesn't work when loaded as a .prg (the prog...

Loved Terra Cresta, also played the heck out of the C64 version at home.

Re: The Verge Published an Article on MiSTer

I bought a DE10 from some big electronics retailer, no questions asked. Only later did I find out about its intended purpose. Right now I'm taking my first baby steps with Quartus, Verilog and VHDL. Something I would have never done if it weren't for MiSTer. I never pretended to be in academia or industry and misrepresented myself in any other way...

Re: Street Fighter II Core Issue

Sounds like bad (or mismatched?) rom. Have you looked in file to check which rom you should be using?

Re: Better performance and 080 support?

I would question if there is enough power in even the DE10-Nano with it's ARM co-pro on the SOC for what you want though? Doesn't the Vampire have a beefier FPGA, which is part of the reason it costs so much more? No, actually MiSTer has a more powerful SoC, they both use the same cyclone V, however the DE10nano has significantly more (110k vs 77k...

Re: Robocop

I have a Robocop PCB and absolutely love it. Pairs nicely with Aliens and Ninja Turtles to get that late 80's arcade feel. The voice samples and music are a key part of the audio found in any good arcade. The PCB is a Data East MEC-M1 which supports: Robocop, Bad Dudes, Birdie Try, Heavy Barrel, Hippodrome, and Stadium Hero. See some details here:...

Re: Robocop

Well I'll leave this if JT is going to do it. I'll probably look at elements of it to scratch my own itch as it were though, I got interested in the 3 custom gate arrays...
I might well go back and look at me childish 'remaster' of the C64 version hahah

Re: Robocop

Of course, doing this data east core would also provide 'Bad Dudes Vs. Dragon Ninja'. Maybe somewhat less desirable of a game, but still historically relevant. Not sure how many other Data East roms could be supported by this. I'll look in to this more when I have some time later, but if anyone has any links to quality resources for research, lmk.

Re: Robocop

Actually one of the reasons I started running my MiSTer (apart from having DE10s laying around for other FPGA work) was that I found an old cassette with my 8/9-years-old-self attempt at redoing Robocop on the C64 and wanting to get that up and running again on hardware. I got some nice big detailed 'arcade-style' sprites at the time. Trying hard n...

Re: Robocop

Yes, it is an awesome arcade game, still fun now! I must admit to still having some 'baggage' over the quality (read lack of budget and time given to developers) of C64 and Amiga (ST port) home conversions. Especially the dirty trick of making the drugs level impossible to complete on the C64! If only they had known how many copies they would sell...

If no one else is interested in doing this, I’d consider having a working on it, but I know I won’t have any time for a long while.

Has anyone looked at doing the data-east arcade ‘Robocop’, an absolute classic, one of my favorite arcades?

Re: Cannot Load Any ROMs

i didn't know there was an arcade up there? was that in the 90's? I only remember jeans shops, a chippy/cafe and a computer shop. i remember the arcade which used to be next to the star pub.. opposite telephone house.. Yeah, early 90's. They had some SNK MVS, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat, and Maddog McCree. Loads of kids crammed in around MK wh...

Re: Cannot Load Any ROMs

The ROMs I had to get from archive.org since the Darksoft one is missing (so this may be the problem?) They are the NeoGeoRomCollectionByGhostware The Darksoft pack is still there. Thanks for pointing this out, it had gone for a while. All working here, now! So glad, I got an AES to relive my misspent youth in the top deck of Prinny-Quey  , b...

Re: Cannot Load Any ROMs

Same here, ghostware roms, universe bios, all the other required files from inside neogeo.zip (everything has been unzipped). The F12 screen shows the bios and all the games (rather than folders, as happened with some other roms). I've tried every combination of MVS/AES/NTSC/PAL/uni-bios/original (8 combinations) and the best I get is the crosshatc...
