Does the Phoenix Core Have Cycle Accuracy

Hi there, yesterday I played an original Phoenix from Centuri and I noticed, that it has a lot of slow downs, especially on the base level when a lot of birds attacked.

I did not notice these slowdowns on the Mister Version? Any oppinions/knowledge on that issue?

Thanks!

Re: Antonio villena's decapod issues

But why do you turn snac on? How is your decapod connected? Not via DB9?

My understanding is, that the snac setting is unnecessary whit the db9 port of the cores. It's just a leftover from the normal core with the usb shaped snac. You see in my setting snac is off.

Re: Antonio villena's decapod issues

I played nes now with two db9 atari joysticks connected to the decapod in genesis settings. That worked fine though it's not playable because they have only one button.

Setting was:

Re: Antonio villena's decapod issues

Maybe Antonio can verify/test that. I have no original NES Controllers. The only think I can tell is, I had the settings saved in the core to DB9 and then restarted everything connected. Then the scrolling went away. I will check later if this happens to me with other controllers on the decapod.

Re: Antonio villena's decapod issues

Wow I never knew such problems were being encountered with the decapod. Is there like a thread that shows all the wonky issues going on with it ? Or is this just your experience with it( I'm assuming it's not just your experience but just asking). Also has Antonio addressed any of these issues? ( If you know ?) This is just my pure personal experi...

Re: Antonio villena's decapod issues

Oh man thanks a lot, I though it was just me that has had these wonky issues and that it was my decapod that was defective. When this happened I did power down the mister and unplug the decapod but it would come back with the same problem. I would always plug the decapod in first before turning the mister on just the practice I have always used. I...

Re: Antonio villena's decapod issues

Yes, I have seen some fancy things with decapod also. I also had this upward scrolling in some cores, don't remember wich one. Usually that went away when I did a reboot with the Decapod already connected. I experience the most problems, when I connect the decapod to an already running mister. On the other hand, there are issues with the Decapod wi...

The first screen looks like Atari System 1 Indiana Jones because of Lucasfilm and the second screen looks like Marble Madness because of the timer in the upper middle screen.

This is odd, I am starting to wonder if something changed in the MiSTer framework that prevents this from working on the analog output. Re: MAME CRT Rotation

There is a way to rotate the picture by rewiring the cables to the crt, but when your favorite games are all in the correct orientation, that's really a problem. I can feel with you, I would also love to see all games in the same vertical orientation.

Re: Can I Update (Only) Midnight Commander in MiSTer?

You would have to compile the tool yourself, there is no linux package manager to use for MiSTer. Here are some steps to setup a cross compile environment: https://mister-devel.github.io/MkDocs_MiSTer/developer/mistercompile/ Oh, thanks! I don't know how to do that and that's not worth the effort. But good to have this info! I will filter the game...

Re: SD Card Not Booting Anymore

Thank you for all the tips and hints. I was indeed able to format it again under linux while windows was failing. After formatting I ran h2testw and it reported no error. h2testw is a tool to check for faked SD-Cards. Needs forever. https://www.heise.de/download/product/h2testw-50539

I will try Natrox Migration utility now. Thanks :-)

Re: SD Card Not Booting Anymore

It seems the SD-Card itself is broken. Can't format it anymore. Well, this installation was pretty recent. I bought a new SD-Card, very expensive, Sandisk Max endurable or something like this to prevent what just happened :-)

Well, I'll probably go the way of another complete new installation then...

SD Card Not Booting Anymore

Hi, maybe it was my fault, I don't know, but my SD-Card is not booting anymore. The Mister_Data partition is still there and I'm doing a backup right now. I'll check for the Linux partition later in a virtual machine. Any hints how to get a working SD-Card asap? Can I make the Linux partition bootable again? Or do I have to format, reinstall Mister...

Can I Update (Only) Midnight Commander in MiSTer?

Hi,

is it possible to update the Midnight Commander in Mister without breaking something?

I'd like a newer version because I need the Filter function to have the case insensitive toggle.

If so, how could I do that? SSH to mister.... apt-get update?

I did order one at mouser at 28.Feb.22 for 190.- Euro and according to their website it should deliver at the 19.April.23. I wonder if I still get the old price from '22.

There should be 952 Pieces available starting 21. April.

Re: MAME CRT Rotation

First I would rotate my monitor, than only 20% are wrong ;-) But still, my understanding is, that it is not technically impossible to have the screen flipped upside down, at least for most games, it's just that we don't have someone who does it. Hasn't it be done for Centipede, Q-Bert (wrong again) and others? This and fact that a lot of "Gold...

It picked up the .IMG without problem here, but you have to follow the instructions in the readme pretty much exactly. Like some special named roms and stuff in the directory. I don't remember exactly, but I had to fiddle a little bit.

With controller swapped in menu, pushing down changes the menu option....pushing up toggles sound on/off, fire button or "Z" or "-" on keyboard starts the game. The Super Vision 8000 does not sync on a normal TV (at least for me). It looks to me like it adds scanlines (scandoubler?), so the resolution would be doubled. Just a g...

I found it out myself. You have to set the "paddles to left" setting in iCode. Now I'm struggling with the Indy 500 rotary controllers :-)

iCode has an adapter called the Duo Plus that has two ports for joysticks and 4 paddles.
