Re: MT32-pi not getting power from USB cable

I have the exact same issue as yourself, I need an external power supply of some sort for the MT32pi it also says psu low on the screen. I don't get the same notification on my Pi I have disabled warnings in MT32pi config files, and I have three heatsinks applied to the three main chips on the Pi3 :) I have a copper heatsink case coming soon, as m...

Re: MT32-pi not getting power from USB cable

The hub should not be used to power the MT32 pi. The Pi will draw all its power through the IO port of the Io Board. It doesnt need an external power connection. The Mt32 stack needs one connection from the Hat to the IO port. Nothing should go to the Pi at all Unfortunately that never worked for me. If I am only using the IO port with no external...

Re: MT32-pi not getting power from USB cable

He's referring to a device suck as a Power Strip with an on/off switch. That way you turn on/off "Mains" power to transformer instead of from transformer to Mister. Oh... Unfortunately that's not possible for my current setup, as the MiSTer is on a power strip that only has a single on/off switch, not individual switches. It's shared wit...

Re: MT32-pi not getting power from USB cable

I wouldn't trust anything from Aliexpress. I also wonder why people want to use a switch on the 5V side where quite a few amps have to be switched, a switch on the primary side (110V/220V) is a much better choice: it just must be rated for the voltage, the amps passing thru such a switch will be ridiculous low. Would you be able to recommend such ...

Re: MT32-pi not getting power from USB cable

So I did some further reading elsewhere in this forum, and sure enough the problem is with the inline switch. Upon closer inspection, the inline switch can only output 2A even though my PSU is rated for 4A Connecting the power directly to the DE10-Nano and USB hub with the splitter allowed the MT32-pi to draw enough power from the USB hub's powered...

I’m having issues last few days - found and reading back this .. usb hub and the wireless adaptor sometimes doesn’t work then does etc.. now the 8bit wired controller is playing up . So I will try the combinations mentioned and report back ! I thought it was to do with the recent Linux updates. But My wifi dongle has always played up . Powering up...

Re: USB hub randomly not turning on?

I'm curious if y'all use inline power switches to turn the system on and off? It's been suggested that the voltage drop these apparently cause can be damaging to the MiSTer over time. So you're saying having two separate power bricks, one each for the DE10-Nano and the USB hub, is preferred? I am currently using these three items for my MiSTer, wi...

Re: MT32-pi not getting power from USB cable

have you tried a shorter cable? The cable is 20cm, I can't find any shorter cable I believe cable length would only affect data transmission, not power The cable I am using is one of the tested and recommended cables from the MT32pi GitHub anyway At this point I am chalking it up to my using a Raspberry Pi 3B+, instead of the preferred 3A board.

Everything works great as long as I have a separate power supply connected to the Raspberry Pi.

However, it's obvious there's no power when I just use the USB cable connected to the MiSTer's Data IO port, as the Pi's red LED doesn't turn on, and the OLED screen on the MT32-pi is blank.

My MT32-pi is not getting power from the USB cable :( Power is only available when I connect the micro-USB cable to my Raspberry Pi 3B+ I thought the MT32-pi was supposed to be able to draw power from the MiSTer, or am I getting something wrong? Re: MegaAGS 2022.02.22 Available

This is a work-in-progress, and while there is no one “true aspect ratio” on Amiga CRT monitors — since they had adjustments for vertical and horizontal stretching — we have compared the MiSTer HDMI output to Commodore 1942 and 1084 CRT monitors, and have arrived at a 40:27 aspect ratio for all games that are not NTSC. The launcher will tell you w...

Re: Recommended keyboard and mouse input

If you're serious about computer-style games I'd recommend getting a wireless mouse even if you get one of these lil' keyboard+pad combos. Real mouse is just much better, for me at least. And the modern optical ones work well on just about any surface, evene rugged/uneven ones, so there's no need for mousepads and tables. I use mostly Logitech M18...

Re: Case for MT32pi + Raspberry Pi 3B

GPIO extensions didn't work out, the MT32pi failed to respond after flashing the MT32pi logo Definitely the extension's problems, as removing it and connecting the MT32pi back to the Raspberry Pi solved the problem Realized I didn't need all the standoffs from the DE10 Nano either, so I have a better fit now... ftHOBYg.jpg Still not entirely happy ...

Jerry-rigged this with a generic RPi 3B+ case, and some old standoffs from the Terasic DE-10 Nano.

Waiting for GPIO extensions to arrive before experimenting further with the Rpi case.

Re: Recommended keyboard and mouse input

I can't recommend a remote-sized mini keyboard like the Rii for actual gameplay use; it simply doesn't work well enough for kb or mouse input. It can be handy for when you need to occasionally press a key or key combo, though, such as for menu stuff or taking screenshots. Or for very light OS mouse use like in Amiga Workbench. Not planning to mess...

Case for MT32pi + Raspberry Pi 3B

Is there a 3D printable case for MT32pi + Raspberry Pi 3B?

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4777179 is the closest thing I could find, but it's not designed for the Pi 3B. Does anyone have one to share?

Or point to a location where I can purchase said case?

Thank you.

I love the FM Overdrive based on the two samples in your Soundcloud.
It definitely sounds a lot better than the original.
However, would this not affect the authenticity of the game?

Re: Select Arcade Cores Not Working Properly (Black Screen, Visual Artifacts)

Tonight I tried SSF2T. First 5 times or so it worked well. Then I switched to other core, and when I tried again, I did get those artifacts as well. I had the same problem with SSF2 and SSF2T last week. I deleted the ROM files, and then used the MAME Downloader part of the Update Alls script to redownload the ZIP files. Been working properly since.

Re: Requesting support for Xbox Series (X/S) controller support via bluetooth.

The Xbox Series S|X controllers use Bluetooth Low Energy, which is different from Xbox One or PlayStation controllers. The Microsoft USB dongle is required, as it is not compatible with most USB Bluetooth adapters that do not support BLE. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/adapters/wireless-adapter-windows At least this is the explanation I got...

Set the core's region detection to file extension.

Ensure the ROM file (I am assuming it's an American Genesis ROM) has the GEN file extension.
