Re: Can't get analog sticks to work with PSX core? [Solved]
It works for me. First start it in xinput (x plus start to power on) mode and map the keys in main menu, then it will work.

Re: MiSTer Multisystem Handheld Prototype 'Handy'
It looks kinda cool but someone has to say it before it’s too late: why such a crap d pad?
Look at it this way: if you can’t do a decent speed run of Super Mario World on it, then it’s a bad product. It definitely wouldn’t be possible on this thing in its current state.

Does this mean you can now actually play the sega 16 games? Previously they would not take inputs and it wasn’t possible to remap the controls either.

Re: Video Player Core?
Imagine watching stuff on a crt again. Heaven. 😎 You can easily do that with a Raspberry Pi which has a dedicated composite video output. I used an app called Rasplex which streamed the video files from my PC to the CRT. But I don’t have a raspberry pi (and those are kinda hard to come by these days), I have a mister. And composite isn’t good enou...

Re: SEGA 16 Public Release
Does anyone else have problems with the default controller settings? I cannot do anything in any of these games, I have to manually set the controls for each one, and even that doesn’t really work, I can’t get past the title screen for most games!

Sega 16 controls not working
Hey guys, What's up with the controls in Sega 16? I cannot play a single game. It ignores my inputs. If I manually set the controls for each core, some work, some don't. How do I fix this? I have similar problems with ALL arcade cores, in that the default controls are really stupid (select is start, start is "credits", R is insert coin, e...

What games are they?
EDIT: Yes they were downloaded with update all.

Re: Fairly decent X68000 Video settings for CRT/RGB with demo
I've tried all the settings in this thread using a direct video dongle and a Commodore 1084 screen, none of them are working. Violent flickering or picture rolling. I added the line direct_video=0 to all these configs. So I guess direct video doesn't work for this, or the Commodore monitor just really doesn't like this.

Look at the schematic instead of the layout. It’s on GitHub and can be opened on the Altium online viewer website.

It’s probably not fixable.
But try direct video and see what it looks like.

Re: Those dark lines on a CRT television aren't "scanlines"
Where did the term come from anyway? First time I even heard about it was in emulators in the late 90s. When CRTs were the only thing we had! Enabling it made the picture look really artificial and weird - those black lines are totally unnatural, most TVs or computer monitors never even had any “scan lines”.

Re: Analog Board Design Decisions
The analog board is kind of a legacy product from when Mister hadn’t established itself yet. This is why it has some weird quirks. And documentation is a real problem in the Mister community, which is its biggest flaw I think. Having to read YouTube comments and forum threads, and even worse - join discord! Just to figure out something that should h...

Re: Prevent bios from loading upon starting the core
Okay, they boot something, but most cores are quiet and relatively free from animation. The PS1 is not, hence my wish to stop it from doing so. It’s inelegant to see the bios halfway boot up before you have time to open an ISO and then see it restart the bios again. It leads to bios fatigue.

Re: Sync Problem Rolling Picture Using direct_video Mode
Mister doesn’t output PAL or NTSC, it outputs RGB. My TV doesn’t support NTSC at all but that’s not a problem in this case. I’ve only tested NTSC games on the PS1 core so I don’t know if PAL games work better.

The last version to work with direct video is January 31. It’s got sound support and everything so I’m happy with it. Using direct video on a CRT.

Re: Terasic DE10 Nano Price Increase
End of July sounds optimistic. It’ll probably be longer until it’s in stock in any real volume. Component shortage is only getting worse and worse. I work in electronics and 2022 is looking REAL dark. I know of many companies that are no longer being able to produce anything, or are real close to it. Even basic stuff like resistors are becoming sca...

Re: Possible to manually wire some IO Board functionality direct to the DE-10's GPIO pins?
It is possible. I did exactly this to get analog audio output together with direct video before I got my analog board in the mail. I just replicated that circuit with through hole components on a small pcb and attached it to the de10 nano with header wires. Worked perfectly.

No, I meant bios loading when the core starts, not when you load an iso. I want the core to stay black until I do something with it, like the others.
