Re: Show Us Your MiSTers
Awesome, i like that. Any chance you could share a parts list? I'd really like to find those buttons, for one... I made a metal case base on a amplifier case, there may be too much hot melt glue inside. It's very compact, no suit for IO Board. But I don' t have a CRT, so the IO Board is optional. Please show your MiSTer too  I0sZJzb.jpg

Re: Acorn Archimedes Core
Ahhh, i figured it out. Using an LCD monitor, you can go into the Archie core, load the desktop, go into confirguration>screen, and set the resolution to "normal" making sure to leave the interlaced box unticked. Then just turn on direct video in your mister.ini and it will load in 15kHz. I have no idea if i had to do it this way as my US...

Re: Acorn Archimedes Core
Try tapping the "0" key on the Numpad while booting to set the Archimedes to the 15 KHz mode. I can't seem to get this to work, i still get a 31kHz split image. I've tried holding the key, and tapping it, pressing it once... Is there a chance someone could upload a 15kHz-confirmed Cmos.dat file for me? Because that would be awesome :)

Re: List of cores that require SDRAM, and how much?
Much obliged, anon. I do wish there was a list of how much RAM each core used, though AFAIK it's only NEOGEO that uses more than 32MB? Thus far, at any rate.

List of cores that require SDRAM, and how much?
https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_Mi ... t-by-cores
That link, that comes up at the top every single time i search, goes nowhere. I know i had a list the other day, but i can't seem to find it again.
Does anyone have a link to the list of SDRAM requirements?
Thanks!

Re: VGA converter problems [Solved]
Oh yes, i'd agree. The MiSTer is amazing. Not as flexible as a PC, but when it works it can't be beaten.

Re: VGA converter problems
Aaaand today i plug the no-name adapter in, and everything works perfectly through composite sync, no mess, no fuss. I mean, WTF. Also, are you the crtemudrive-guide buttersoft? ;) Guilty, yes :) Which pisses me off because i feel i should handle stuff like this better, lol. I need to update that guide to mention the MiSTer i guess, as a very viabl...

Re: VGA converter problems
So... no one else has had similar problems? I have been hot-plugging the HDMI port a bit, which i didn't realise might damage it. Somehow i don't think that's the problem. Different cores are clearly doing something different on a 240p output signal, which i find interesting given they're reporting the same spec on screen and to my frequency counte...

Re: Getting a Mister for an original CRT + Jamma arcade cabinet
I dont get the J-pac video feature, can't I take the R-G-B-Sync signals from the VGA connector of the Mister IO board? Probably not. The spec is a 0.7Vp-p signal so i imagine that's what the mister is producing, and the arcade chassis probably wants about 1.5Vp-p minimum. The J-Pac acts as an amplifier for the RGB lines, among other things. And it...

Re: Getting a MiSTer for an original CRT + Jamma arcade cabinet
I'm very, very new to this myself, but... https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki/Setup-Guide seems to be a good place to start with the MiSTer. And then either the Direct Video page about setting up RGB signals - https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki/Direct-Video - or buying an I/O board to get analog video from its VGA port wi...

Re: VGA converter problems
Well, I managed to get it working on the no-name adapter by turning off composite sync and mixing each sync line through a 1k resistor. Not on the Tendak though, it just refuses to deliver any stable signal over either sync pin in the Genesis or TGFX16 cores, while the menu and the GBA core still work fine with the above method.

Re: VGA converter problems
So, on the Tendak, the menu works, but also the GBA core. Genesis and PCE do not produce any image, and i cannot bring up the menu (or see to bring it up, rather). I did try adding the 470R resistor to the sync line, but it did nothing. And neither did adding a 1k pot and dialling it around. I also tested a third HDMI-to-VGA adapter, a no-name one ...

VGA converter problems [Solved]
Hi, MiSTer newb here. EDIT: sorry, i've done some more testing. And sorry to the mods, i keep editing this post. Will every post need moderating, or just the first...? I can load everything fine on an HDMI monitor, and using a 31kHz PC monitor also works ok. It's when i set direct_video 1 to connect to a PVM that i'm running into trouble. I'm mostl...
