Pine64 Roshambo USB Controller

Just came across this very interesting and affordable USB controller released by Pine64 for their Roshambo console. I like the combination of a SFC/SNES lower and modern dual thumbsticks. If only it was a 6-button fighter design! Does anyone have any experience using these? https://pine64.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Roshambo-gamepad-3.jpg https:...

Managed to get it working - I just had to put the GBA into controller mode using GBI Player on a GameCube or the GBA-as-Controller utility (requires a flash cart) first then connect it to the Mayflash adaptor while it's still on.

amazing! i gotta dig up some old hardware and try this!

Re: Help Needed How/Where to Connect MT32-pi to Multisystem

They most likely did it that way so it can fit in a slim case. You can always modify it by swapping out the pin header for a female header or using a female header on the PI and using it as hat but then you'll need to either not use the case or design and 3D print a new case to fit the protruding PI. You may be able to get a hold of low profile he...

all of that makes perfect sense but why didnt you make the pi-MMS a normal/removable pi hat? soldering it down -onto a header- is... strange

Re: Help Needed How/Where to Connect MT32-pi to Multisystem

Hello, the Multisystem can be set to be a USER port (3.3v signals) or the SNAC port (usually 5v for game controls etc). Multisystem does not require the use of the SNAC level shifter board as we integrated all that into the Multisystem, just selected by J17. To use a MT32Pi on the Multisystem all you need to do is have J17 jumper set to be 3.3V (P...

Careful, isn't one of the header on backwards/upside down or something?

I seem to to recall a previous post...

Found it, false alarm, its the robot kit that has the flipped header:

I wanted to add information about a usb-c cable that will -not- work with this screen in case others are looking for similar solutions.

This cable does provide power and turn on the display but it will not also display video:

Many thanks for your offer, but I'm residing on the other side of the northern hemisphere, in Germany to be precise. But I read a 'lil bit about setting up a Chromebook, and as long as you can "open" it to gain full access, everything else should be a more-or-less standard setup of Linux. A culprit could be the graphics driver, but that ...

That would be very nice to know, indeed. I'd say if it can run a Linux and has the possibility to drive a display, it will work. Whatever hardware, whatever display, whatever Linux. The hardware and software requirements are very low as it is already running on a RPi1. ill volunteer to test! i got a few MrChromebox'd flashed machines with HDMI sit...

Yeah I finally got the SNAC adapter and it's awesome getting to enjoy lightgun games on my 31Khz CRT monitor! My 15 Khz consumer trinitron is so much fuzzier so it always sucks needing to play lightgun games on that.

so what was the one weird trick?
the 100% black scanline mentioned before?

Can you please tell me if a standard 5v USB port with a USB-A to C cable is capable of powering that screen? If so, I think I'm going to order that one. Thank you in advance! Yes you can power the screen from either port as you describe. I tested A-C, and A-micro while Passing HDMI input and both worked as expected. I tend to agree that the usb-c/...

Welcome! Before you decide on parts for the 'stack', check out the MiSTer multisystem board, especially since you don't have any hardware yet. It combines and 'consolizes' the mister and various addon boards. Has everything you could need to get started, all you need to add is the de-10 nano. Well from what can be seen the components look ok. I bought a cheapie on amazon that didnt quite fit the connector and needed to be pressed in hard.
