Re: Elan Enterprise Core Release Candidate by RW FPGA-Dev Team
To get you started....Enter dos by typing :exdos Then from there is fairly close to old msdos/pcdos (h:, cd folder...) and to load .com/.exe files it's load tetris.com . Home key/button is Pause/Hold, End key/button is Stop. The second link in ron's original post (szergitata) has some info and it also mentions that they did a post already detailin...

Awesome, many thanks for this new core! I had never heard of this computer before! It seems so cool!
Could someone please be so kind as to share a link to a .VHD?
Thanks a lot!

Re: SparcStation Core
@ Grabulosaure, Thank you so much for this new release. Finally Solaris booted perfectly fine! When you get a chance, could you please advise if there is anything I can edit/change in order to visualise the characters correctly on the screen? They all appear in a sort of very low quality in my case. Thanks again! EDIT: I think I have got it! Applyi...

Re: Zero Wing by Toaplan Arcade Core Released
There you go... This patch can be applied to eproms and run on real hardware as well. https://github.com/atrac17/Arcade_Offset/commit/969a8901eee99c77f7c1daa0719dd9a1971b90ef Many thanks for that, I didn't know it was available. In fact I have just enabled your Arcade Offset script to try the other MRA's. Just a note, I have managed to get it work...

Re: Zero Wing by Toaplan Arcade Core Released
Does anyone know if there is an mra file that removes the red flashing effect in Zero Wing or if this could this be added as an option to the core in some way? I know there is a cheat in mame which disables it. There you go... This patch can be applied to eproms and run on real hardware as well. https://github.com/atrac17/Arcade_Offset/commit/969a...

Re: Nichibutsu M68000 Based HW (Terra Cresta/Force)
Did somebody manage to download the correct horekidb2.zip file for the new Booby Kids alternative? Thanks! EDIT: All sorted. I have manually re-downloaded the horekidb.zip file and it is now working :) I shoehorned mame242's `horekid.zip` merged rom into mamegetter. It'll take an hour, but will fix this issue for most people until I upload a new m...

Re: How do you re-create a video console?
One thing I would say, my problem was, looking a bit and then trying to look at something else, or thinking some different hardware would allow me to 'get it'. In the end the only thing that let me get it was building it on a breadboard first and then doing it in Verilog. That's why I'm trying to shorten that learning curve in my videos. I think y...

Did somebody manage to setup the buttons for this core?
I have been trying a few times but to no avail. No matter which button I assign to start and coin, none would work.
Thanks!
EDIT: The alternative version actually worked! Although I have got a warning at the beginning of the game about the beta.bin not found.

@Flandango,
I would love yo try out your core. I have downloaded the .zip file. It seems to contain only the .rbf file.
Thanks
EDIT: Sorry I had missed the main bit about Mame, all working! Very nice indeed!

Re: SparcStation Core
For SunOS and Solaris I use the old SS.rbf. For NeXTSTEP and Linux Etch I use the New SS5.rbf. SS20.rbf is waiting for anyone making a NetBSD image to test with 3 CPUs. ;) Until now I did not do much with the different OSes, I just test that they work, don't destroy the disks and can reboot. It takes so long doing that. For example this morning I ...

Re: SparcStation Core
Whoa! First time I use Solaris and do not destroy the disk. In the old days I did not realize there was a shutdown command as typing shutdown gives unknown command because it is not in the PATH. If I had tried man shutdown I would have known everything about shuting down SunOS and Solaris. When I used man shutdown on Solaris I found out more about...

Re: SparcStation Core
I had no problem with NeXTSTEP, I did it from the GUI, I have to check where it is but it is there. The same with Linux but it is difficult to find it, I have to re-upload the disk as I destroyed it last time I used it. For Linux it can also be done from the terminal but there is a little trick: the shutdown command is in sbin which is not accessi...

Re: SparcStation Core
Back to Linux Etch: the main problem was my HD not spinning but during my experiments and after the screen turned off I lost all the entries in the "taskbar", I had to "power off" the core and destroyed the disk. I also tried SunOS and Solaris on SS5 and indeed they do not work. They work on the old SS.rbf. One problem with the...

Re: SparcStation Core
So far I have been unable to boot anything, I always get "No valid state has been set by load or init-program". Before I give it a rest and finish my new MISTer setup I have a few question? What is the version and date displayed by OpenBios? At this time I have 1.1 from 4/30/2020. At one time during my experiments I think I saw 1.4 but I...
