The aluminum case from MiSTer addons is fanless (the case itself acts as a large heatsink) and therefore silent.

I notice in the cores menu that you can set the difficulty switches, but how does that work? I was trying to figure out how to change the difficulty for Adventure on the 2600…. Can I use the menu difficulty settings or do I need to press a keyboard key? Thank you Yes, you can just set the difficulty switches directly from the core menu. There are ...

Re: The Result of My Search for a Great MiSTer Display

Why is it closer to a CRT ? 1200p and 1440p both have a 16:9 screen no ? It's actually 16:10 for the 24inch one which makes a significant difference in terms of black bars at the side. Some people think it's the ultimate MiSTer display but if it can't display all console cores full screen I'll give it a swerve. Don't discount using a vscale_mode t...

Re: 9.7" iPad Retina Screen Perfect for MiSTer, $60 Fully Assembled 😄

My vsync_adjust is set to 0 (can't get good results otherwise) and I'm using video_mode13, of course. The screen will go black randomly and then come back soon after with the blue/white popup showing the video information. That's strange, vsync_adjust=2 works fine for all cores on my system using the iPad screen (Ali Express version). I wonder if ...

I have the Mister FPGA using an I-PAC for my input via USB. Everything works correctly; however, I am a hard core player trying to make it to the Kill Screen (Level 256) and it seems that this core does not match the Arcade. I thought by investing in the Mister that this would not be an issue. Am I doing something wrong? The Ghosts are not moving ...

Re: Backup of SD Card + USB Disk to NAS

If you have a computer with network access to the MiSTer and the NAS, you could use something like FreeFileSync (open source and free for Windows/Max/Linux). You can set it to only copy the changed files based on date and file size (checksum as well, but that takes quite long to generate for large files). The benefit of doing it this way is that yo...

I'm using two of these 2600daptor d9s:

Currently using them to connect Atari 2600 joysticks, paddles, trackball, etc.

Also using them with Intellivision controllers, and Sega controllers.

Mice work automatically in MiSTer, no need for mapping.

The joystick definitions are for mapping non-mice devices to simulate mice.

I hear you and agree, but there is nothing more that can be done about it unless the developer changes her mind and gives us proper paddle support. For non-paddle games though, it rocks! Paddle games with a nice spinner also rock, but are a different experience that is nice to have only sometimes when in the mood for the upgraded, non-authentic ex...

Re: Best Version of Original R-Type Playable On MiSTer?

There is also the sa-1 patched snes version. This patches a lot of the originals slowdown. As well as Vitor Vilela's excellent SA-1 hacks/patches, the SNES core on MiSTer has an overclock/turbo feature that kills The slowdown on very early SNES titles quite nicely. With either option, SNES Super R-Type is a pleasure to play again. Super R-Type is ...

There is a negCon pad setting in the options, which you would need to use along with a USB adapter that supports it (e.g. Raphnet).

If you are connecting it via SNAC, it should work perfectly.

DS3: 9.2 ms
DS4: 3.5 ms
DS5: 1.8 ms

Since you still have the original NES gamepads, you can buy a NES > USB adapter (e.g. Daemonbite, Raphnet, etc.) and set the USB polling on MiSTer to 1ms.

If you do this, the lag that you experienced with the wireless controllers will disappear.
