Re: HD Support for WB 2.04 and 1.3.3?
@Malor: I know your intentions were good, but that post was very misleading: creating and HDF that contains a PFS3 filesystem is very easy using GNU/Linux (as I said, I don't know about other/inferior operating systems) thanks to amigatools. And then you go on at great length about how all the ways it doesn't work. If you do it from within the vir...

Re: HD Support for WB 2.04 and 1.3.3?
Regarding creating PFS3 HDF images, my workflow is to create the image and partitions + inserting the PFS3 filesystem binary using rdbtool (also from the amitools package). I've automated the process with this script . It should be usable as-is, or if anyone wants to do it manually at least it should be easy enough to see the necessary rdbtool inv...

More information on this. Doing this formats a partition to DOS1, which KS 1.3 should be able to use, but it does not:
Also tried in HEX format:
No way! Is xfdtool unable to do KS 1.3-compatible formats??
Code: Select all
xdftool test.hdf open part=dh0 + format Amiga DOS1

Re: HD Support for WB 2.04 and 1.3.3?
@Vanfel, I still reccomand PFS3AIO for any size even 256MB, because, as Malor quite rightly said, PFS works on any WB and with any CPU. It is also faster and, importantly, more reliable. In case you wish to go for FastFileSystem on the WB 1.3, IIRC the FFS version should be the 40.1 or earlier. In other words, you can use the FFS up to the the one...

Help Running Zork 2, Zork 3 and Might and Magic 2
Hi there DISCLAIMER: I am NOT requesting these games, they are easily available on ExoDOS and on this collection in archive.org, which was previously discussed in this core's section: https://archive.org/details/tdl-hdd, so I have at least 3 or 4 version of each one. Thing is: I have been trying to get Zork 2 and 3 with this PCXT core, and they run...

@chrisy In the end, I used the HDToolBox in the A590 setup disk to define the unit type, partitioned it, and let the format utility to install WB1.3 on it. Working! Why/how the tutorial gets PrepHD to work is a mistery to me, but I won't waste any more time to find out who knows/cares. @roc Should I use PSF3 with KS1.3 and WB1.3 instead of ADFFS? N...

Re: New MSX Core In The Works
@molekula Today's release makes it an awesome and mature MSX1 core already: the PSG sound fixes, the FDD support and the NTSC/PAL switch make it an incredible machine implementation. As others have said, I can't wait to see this on the main MiSTer repository: this is way more compatible than the old "official" MSX1/2/2+ core which is far ...

Hi! I have been followed the instructions in https://www.fpgaarcade.com/kb/how-to-boot-from-a-hdf-on-the-amiga-500-under-kickstart-1-3-on-the-replay/ and I created an 1.3 Kickstart with IDE boot support (I can boot IDE disks with it). Re: Game Glitches on MegaAGS
The problem seems to be in the 68020 CPU implementation. Running the game (WHDLoad install) in plain 68000 mode, glitches don't happen. They only happen when running it with the 68020 CPU: DCache or Chipset settings don't have any impact on the problem. And it's not MegaAGS either: I use my own system installation and the same problem is present wi...

Re: PSX core HDMI video: Somewhat confused about the aspect ratio of games
When using fixed Hblank, the aspect ratio should be right. It was verified with HDMI to modern display and VGA out in parallel on a SONY PVM. It doesn't mean that all circles are true circles, it only means that it looks like it looked on a CRT from the 90th. Of course! This implementation is just perfect, I am sure. My question is more artistical...

PSX core HDMI video: Somewhat confused about the aspect ratio of games
Hi there! I have noticed that, only when using the 3:2 widescreen hack, circles are circles and squares are squares. If I set widescreen hack = off, for example -In Tomb Raider's tittle screen, the Scion appears as a vertical ellipsoid . -In Parappa The Rapper, the indications for pressing SQUARE are vertical rectangles. ..etc So, why don't I use t...

LG PH150G Projector Small Stuttering Every Few Seconds
HI there, A friend lent me an LG PH150G LED projector, and after finding that the thing has indeed a low-latency game mode, I am trying to use it with the MiSTer. The problem is that I see a small stuttering once in a while, very noticeable (to me) on 2D scrolling games that run at 60FPS. This doesn't happen on my HDMI monitors: only the projector ...

First, to my spanish comrades around here, I use my MiSTer without any kind of fan. It has been like this since 2018, and it didn't fry or anything, it works like the first day. I HATE fans, I can't stand the stupid noise that tells me: "this is a badly designed computer, like a PC, it's boring, noisy and prone to get full of dust and fail eve...

Re: Release DE10 Nano Overclock Kernel BETA
I tested the 400 MHz script because my board gets very hot, (and it's incredibly hot where I live). It looks like the script works, but I did not notice any change in temperature, still gets very hot. On the other hand, there were no issues using the cores. Supposedly some kernel changes need to be merged so this really work. I guess you are using...

Re: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core
I have an 8Bitdo SN30 Pro (not plus), and I can't get Ape Escape to work right.
I have tried setting input1 mode to DualShock on the core OSD, and then pushed L3+R3+up (also tried L3+R3+down) but only one axis on the left analog stick seems to be working. Using latest nightly build.
So, is there any detail I may be missing, please?
