Re: Deinterlacing on PSX Core?
To add to that, it'd be nice if there was some way to make this play well with filters. Bob with alternating scanlines is great if you want the CRT look, but right now the filters always stay on the same fields. So with bob, you get static scanlines and a hopping image instead of a static image with hopping scanlines. And scanlines don't work at al...

Re: Scanlines while scrolling
Yeah, definitely sounds like an issue with how the display is handling MiSTer's output. I've never seen this "disappearing scanline" phenomenon and have been using MiSTer for years. Given how many other users there are with many using scanlines, if this was an actual defect we'd have a lot more complaints.

Re: Filters on the Core Menus
There's nowhere in the menu core that lets you select filters, let alone presets.
In-core, filters don't apply to the MiSTer menu overlays.

Doesn't look like it. There's no obvious place for it in the .ini, and if you set default filters it doesn't apply to the menu.

Attached batch file will run through the local folder and all subdirectories, and convert every .cue and .iso formatted file to .chd. This is a slightly modified version of the .bat provided by Retropie.org.uk . Leaves your original files/structure intact, and puts all .chd files in the local folder. Put this .bat and chdman into your games/PSX fol...

Re: Downloader Scripts Breaking WiFi
Can confirm that I have had nothing but good results using WiFi. Used an Edimax dongle for a while, now use the 2-in-1 BT/WiFi that MiSTer Addons recommends. Never had a drop or disconnect that was unique to the MiSter, have copied entire game libraries over via FTP, and even used SMB shares for a while. Maybe I'm just an outlier, but I'm inclined ...

Re: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core
do I have to add the memory card file that I downlaoded from here, empty.mcd in the PSX folder where are the games? You don't have to do anything with memory cards by default. The core will automatically generate a new memory card for each game folder and load that memory card when you launch that game. You can still make your own MCD files and lo...

Re: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core
Is there a fix for some games and the PSX boot screen displaying in a smaller display in the centre of the screen, i guess its something to do with res or interlaced video mode on some game that switch between different screen modes??? This is just how it handles interlaced video right now. Same thing happens in a lot of game menus. If you don't s...

Re: 8bitdo Pro 2 Wired USB Xbox controller not working?
Not that it's any help to someone that already owns this exact controller, but the SN30 Pro series all work perfectly with MiSTer. No real benefit to having the Xbox branded version when the original already works, unless you also want the Xbox features to use on that console.

Re: Is it possible to switch MiSTer.ini and MiSTer_alt.ini with "Reset / OSD / User" buttons?
No, but you can switch with a shortcut on your controller. Select+up/down/left/right switches between them MiSTer currently supports up to 3 additional INI files that can be toggled in the OSD menu, either by going to Misc. Options (press left while in the menu) or by holding the menu back button on your controller and pressing a direction. This is...

If you're using the new Downloader in Update All (which is enabled by default), you need to make this change to your downloader.ini: [mister] filter = !cheats Documentation on downloader filtering - https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Downloader_MiSTer/blob/main/docs/download-filters.md List of filters - https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Distribution_MiS...

Re: Some Scripts Stop Working For No Reason At All From Time To Time
I don’t think any of this matters. WiFi is just not something that is reliable on MiSTer. As someone who has only ever used WiFi and has never had it be anything short of rock solid, I'll respectfully disagree. I think that the majority of users probably use WiFi only, and presumably it works well for them as well. Or maybe I'm just lucky, but if ...

Re: Some Scripts Stop Working For No Reason At All From Time To Time
What's your MiSTer setup? OTG hub, or USB board? If OTG, is it self-powered, or just powered form the micro USB port? If USB board, how are you powering it? Just through the micro USB port, or do you have a Y splitter for the DE-10 nano's power? What's the rating on your power supply? Do you have an inline power switch?

Yeah, with adaptive scanlines and shadowmasks, the only major thing I see missing is alternating scanline fields for 480i content. I've officially boxed up my PVM at this point and just play on my plasma set.

Scanlines that get thicker/thinner based on how bright the pixels around it are. Will look more authentic. But we need the cores to be updated--you can get betas in the Discord I believe. Example: i31fxgn.jpg See how there's basically no scanline at all between white pixels, medium scanlines on the lighter colored ground, and thicker scanlines on t...

Re: Power USB Hub v2.1 Direct From DE10 Nano?
How can I wire power from the De-10 nano to the USB hub directly? You should be able to solder to the thru-hole solder pins below the power jack, and pass that through to the USB hub. You're effectively tapping directly into the DC adapter just like you would with a Y-adapter. There's a USB hub out on the market that does that--the USB hub has pro...

Re: Possible to manually wire some IO Board functionality direct to the DE-10's GPIO pins?
If it's going into an arcade cabinet and you don't need dual output (analog and didgital going to two displays at the same time), direct video is 100% the way to go. In fact, you'll get better quality output than you get on the IO board. Analog IO board is really only suitable for people that want dual output. And since you won't be able to access ...

Re: Film Grain / NTSC artifacts
Artifacting I can understand to some extent, but film grain? I guess it woudl add a retro aesthetic of some sort, but an entirely unnatural one. Film grain comes from the actual filming and processing of video on film stock. Video game consoles would never have anything like that. Maybe you're looking for something more like composite/RF noise?

Re: tty2oled Soft&Hardware Add-On (Shows Core based Pictures on a Display)
I think so. Very cool. 8-) Which logo is displayed on the screen when the screensaver runs? Testing on the unit I got from you now. Looks like it alternates between a MiSTer logo and TTY2OLED logo that bounces around the screen periodically. And definitely works on your NodeMCU. Example: CMDSAVER,1,10,120 Shows the Logo for 120 seconds and then st...

I also have the one just linked. It works for both Wi-Fi and BT. However, the Wi-Fi transfer is always slow, maxing out at around 4MB/s but usually running slower. Have been wondering if anyone ever sees faster Wi-Fi file xfer speeds with MiSTer? Mister Addons did a shootout of read/write speeds. These black/green modules come it at ~13/7.5 MBps R...

I ordered this one awhile back and since the update to the main Linux, I am able to use it with no issues.
I think most of the dongles with a Realtek RTL8821CU chipset should work with the latest update.
