SNES core hangs/freezes after leaving intro running for a couple hours

pretty much the title this did not happen with the previous SNES core, or any of the other cores i leave the intro running for long periods of time, but something with the new SNES core update freezes after a couple of hours games ive seen it happen the most are chrono trigger and nightmare busters anybody else able to reproduce this (i know it tak...

Re: Toaplan System 2 Board

yes, autofire is built into MiSTer for all cores (which i think is a very nice feature, but the settings are not saved when you exit a core and must be re-set everytime you load a core) https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki/Input-devices#auto-fire "Any defined button (except d-pad) supports auto fire. Re: CRT vs. LCD "Disadvantage of CRT with Cores"

The PC often has a lot of latency in that kind of setup. Modern NVidia cards support a technique called 'beamracing', which at least WinUAE uses, but I'm not aware of anyone else using it. Without beamracing, emulating on the PC is at least +1 frame of lag, and often +2 frames. With beamracing, on a modern NVidia card, it's basically emulating rig...

Re: Toaplan System 2 Board

ive been playing alot of Bakraid and Batrider over the past couple weeks, and wow , the lineup of games on the Toaplan System2 board really are in the top tier of SHMUPs they may not have the bullet hell style of a Cave 68k, or super polished look of a CPS2 title, but Bakraid & Batrider are very approachable games as a beginner and are just pla...

Re: Variable Refresh Rate support added thanks to zakk4223

this will hopefully remedy the gameboy sync losses, some random arcade cores losing sync every few seconds, and of course, the SNES core missing the intro screen and chime when first booting a game in vsync 2 ( ex link to the past, super mario world) I was hoping for that last one myself, but the results on my LG 27GN650 weren't any better than vs...

Re: Toaplan System 2 Board

that set of arcade games from Toaplan are some of the greatest SHMUPs and would definitely get the attention of collectors and enthusiasts

but, i also understand MiSTer core development is a side project for some people and doesnt have their devoted attention like a full time job would. im sure we will see Toaplan V2 on the MiSTer someday tho!

ahh, apologies if that was confusing. the order of patching is like this - patch the original japanese FF6 ROM with Final Fantasy VI T-Edition A3R11.ips, then patch T Edition_Music_Fix.ips, then patch T Edition_Costume_Fix.ips and then if you want to prepare the EX version, patch the original japanese FF6 ROM with Final Fantasy VI T-Edition EX A3R1...

Re: Can't get analog sticks to work with PSX core? [Solved]

hmmm, it could be related to a default mode the controller is in. like, its in a "nintendo switch mode" when you power on the controller and you need to manually change it over to PC mode https://manuals.plus/8bitdo/sn30-pro-bluetooth-gamepad-manual Switch press & hold Y & start to turn on the controller then press pair button for...

Final Fantasy 6 (T-Edition)

AfirerH.png FF6 T-Edition is a popular Japanese ROM hack of Final Fantasy VI for the Super Famicom. It's intended for Final Fantasy VI fans who would like to play the game with new twists. Think of Final Fantasy VI T-Edition as a fun, lengthy, and more difficult version of Final Fantasy VI from an alternate universe. 3MeKRKF.png In simple terms, t...

i have the sn30 pro wired and it works just fine

but, you do need to set it up first in the main mister controller setup - Define joystick buttons (not in the PSX core)

i have played with SNAC on a modern HDTV, a HD computer monitor, and also have a SNES & CRT.
i play alot of kaizo super mario hacks, and the input response is "identical" to my CRT setup using the MiSTer with a wired daemonbite, vsync2, and a fast computer monitor @ 1080p

Re: Testing Latency of Controllers

I can say, micguyver has optimized his daemonbite code to the best of his abilities, and a couple months ago, optimized his SNES adapter even further to get an average reading of 0.9ms, versus the previous reported 1.1ms average but, that doesnt mean the code couldnt get better, and it would be cool if someone could optimize it even further (anothe...

yes, i would also like this feature, and was asking the same thing a little bit ago on discord as is, its a very cool feature to have built in, and im happy to have it for the SHMUPs without autofire built into the game i understand purists would disapprove of using autofire for games that didnt have it originally, but it makes these single shot ga...

yes, that does sound like a good idea.
im sure it would help if we could find a way to "confirm" chips with some kind of instruction/stress test

really looking forward to these possible cores, and they all seem like perfect candidates for DEVs to sink their teeth into. these boards are pipe dream purchases and for arcade enthusiasts to purchase/maintain. so wildly expensive. having them repro'd in FPGA will be very very appreciated PGM CPU : 68000 @ 20 MHz Sound CPU : Z80 Sound Chip : ICS21...

Re: Aracde Joysticks for MiSTer

my recommendation would be either a stick with a UFB, or a daemonbite arcade project (https://github.com/MickGyver/DaemonBite-Arcade-Encoder) both would use an existing arcade stick you like, and then replace the board inside with either the UFB or a ProMicro Atmega32U4 but if a prebuilt stick is preferred, i would reference the input latency chart...

yes, what foxbat just said, if youre running the mister in low lag mode, its sending the correct refresh rate/video signal to the monitor (original refresh rate). so, if youre getting a solid picture, without any stuttering, its just the monitor not displaying the FPS/refresh rate to a xx.x decimal in its FPS overlay, but the MiSTer is actually sen...
