Re: VGA Mode Changing for 720x400 and 640x400
Here's a version that supports video-mode-specific sub-sections in MiSTer.ini that can be used to override any configuration option. I'm much happier with this scheme. https://github.com/tsowell/Main_MiSTer/tree/ini-video-overrides Section names must follow the format "video=WIDTHxHEIGHT[@VREFRESH]". MiSTer will first look for an exactly...

Re: VESA 2.0 Under DOS
Thanks very much. I've also now confirmed that the VESA 2.0 modes of Duke3D work with these settings. If anyone else is aware of other games which may now work with VBE 2.0 support, it would be great to test these too. notice any speed differences? when in game you can type "dnrate" and it will show the frame rate. Some are going to be a...

Re: MiSTer AO486 Shareware Pack and MyMenu DOS Frontend!!!
I could just try but I ask anyway, as I'm still waiting for my USB board. Can you open up the vhd and replace the shareware version of a game with the full version? And evrything still works? I know you are updating the 300 pack but I have limited sd space so this would be easier. Yes, if the developers of the games made the games work that way. Y...

I have a huge collection of VCD files. Will these be supported too maybe in the future or should i start converting them? I could probably write something that extracts and then compiles them into STR format and injects them into a CHD with the player. yeah that is a good thing. Sorry I forgot the Zero doesn't have analog audio... So probably specific SNAC port and even more specifically the i2S lines as i2C is how the display is getting data.
https://github.com/dwhinham/mt32-pi/wik ... ace-pinout
So you need to figure out what is going to with the i2s pins on this diagram.

Yeah good to test on the 6.1 to be sure. If it came from misteraddons it should be solid. I don't have one to test against. Do try the pwm mode and see if you get audio out of the pi itself with that setting set. In this scnerio you should only hear the MIDI sounds from the pi as it wont mix the FM sound back like the i2s option does. That should f...

try a different resistor or temporarily no resistor at R1 to test, or did you go cheap and get your MiSTer IO board from AliExpress or somewhere that said "Manual Welding"? Hey there, I absolutely love this pack and the work done to it. However, i'm having real bad performance issues on some games and i'm not sure if tha'ts on purpose due to the MISTer or if I bungled something. IN particular is Grand Prix II. I know a lot of people these days steer clear of changes to it because of how full it is and how long it takes to build so a double thank you for your passion here.

Re: Windows NT 4 - WORKING on ao486!
I have found a solution for fixing NTFS conversion and have submitted the PR for it here: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/pull/557 Note that it's actually quite useful to keep the drive as FAT so that you can access it from DOS (maybe you need to do some troubleshooting, or copy something in from MisterFS). However, this provides you t...

Re: Real Floppy Drive
You can create an empty .img file like USB_Floppy.img, add that to your AO486 folder. Then on the linux side run
where /dev/sda is what shows up when you plug in your usb floppy drive. Then just mount usb_floppy in the core with a floppy disk in. I had some buffer issues but it worked.
Code: Select all
ln -s /dev/sda /meida/fat/games/AO486/USB_FLOPPY.IMG

T300 pack has some volume scripts built in for now. Under --Utilities at the top of the list and there are volume scripts in there. You can add those references to the run scripts of each game. These only work for mt32 mode. like in 1_START.bat for the games you wanted to pull the volume down on for MT-32: @echo off call E:\UTILS\DUMP.EXE E:\GAMES\...

I wondered if it might be useful to change more than just the video mode based on different core video modes, so I'm looking at moving the configuration into sub-sections of MiSTer.ini, so you can do stuff like: [video=320x200] video_mode=640,16,96,48,400,12,2,35,25175,0,1 vscale_mode=2 [video=720x400@70.0] video_mode=720,15,108,51,400,11,2,32,283...

A quick update. To help me pinpoint the problem, i moved the vhd images used by ao486 to the sd card. These are not the Top300 images, but a fresh install I made of MS-DOS 6.22.
