is there a way to show wallpapers on crt tv?

here it only shows the noise background

yes, set the [menu] to use the scaler.

Code: Select all

[menu]
vga_scaler=1

Also for the other person wanting to get the static back, just keep pressing F1 to cycle through all the background options when on the main menu.

Re: FDD Support Based on ao486 Implementation

you could always include the second floppy in the vhd in a folder like flppy2 and then in the autoexec put "SUBST B: C:\FLPPY2". That should work 99% of the time.

Alone in the Dark in this collection has no music. Any way to get that working? It's just not the same without that soundtrack!

It uses Redbook audio (CD-Audio) and unfortunately the AO486 core doesn't support that. I could do this fake MP3 hack but it wouldn't be the same and it is complex to setup.

Re: Depricated.

That's what I figured out already, but what exactly has to be done with the downloaded zip-file? Unpacking it? Where to put the extracted files? The update script is designed to do everything for you. It puts all of the updates inside the Top 300 VHDs for C: and E:. Downloads update.zip extracts it to TMP Mounts VHDs temporarily rsyncs files into ...

Thanks for this change, it is more easy for people wanting to change it. The option 100Mhz is hide because the core could be unstable and generate issues reported by users. So maybe it is better to let it hide also for this new change. It really annoys me that this is hidden instead of saying (Unstable/Debug/ETC) like similar features in PSX. Don'...

Add me to the list of people who are out of space on their Top 300 A0486 VHD. Tried VHDResizer which resized the volume but not the FAT32 partition with the games on it. If I were to go down the path of creating a new VHD of 24GB instead of 22GB as others have suggested, how do I get the two partitions in the same state as the original Top 300 VHD...

You can also not load DOS into High or any other UMBs and it will also work fine. Thanks! That is all great information. I suspected it might be a Tandy mode issue, and since it also happens on real hardware, there is nothing to fix in the core. Do you know if it also crashes with real MSDOS? You could perhaps make different HD images with differe...

1) Yes, use the top item in the menu that says --Manually Added Games. That will bring you over to Launchbox and you can add you custom games over there. It's not a perfect solution but it was what I could do at the time. 2) yes, just overwrite what is in E:/games/DUNE1992 or add you game along side it and modify the DUNE 1_start.bat script to hav...

1. The PC/AT 3.5Mhz equivalent speed is obtained from 25Mhz without cycle accuracy. It also doesn't perform much better than how it was previously set, which was based on 14.318Mhz ... so if this starts to give problems and is difficult to resolve, we could consider going back to 14.318Mhz without cycle accuracy as the maximum speed. This topic sparked a memory for me with the PCJr and the keyboard issues when running at a higher baud rate when connecting to a BBS, it would cause issues if you had lots of data coming in and pressed a keyboard key at the same time. Could this be happening due to the XTIDE COM data + the mouse data coming in similar to the notes below? Not sure w...

Did you try the symlink method? If you go to the Linux prompt on the MiSTer after connecting a USB floppy drive, you should be able to make a symlink to the floppy drive and if you then name that symlink something like floppydrive.img and place it in the PCXT or AO486 folder you should be able to mount that file in either of the cores and access w...

Re: MiSTer PCXT

TDL Extraction and auto creation of a PC Booter disk is working great now. For those games that require a floppy boot, you need to create yourself an empty floppy on the mister first: cd/media/fat/games/PCXT serdrive -n 1.44MB floppy.img then go mount that floppy in the core and reboot. Both A and B will be the same floppy so either should work. Th...

Re: MiSTer PCXT

A CRC check failure does not mean a bug in CRC calculation or comparison; it's probably a bad decompression. Most decompression algorithms supported by PKZIP involve a lot of code, it's not a small and simple loop. I might try some debugging. I need the exact version of PKUNZIP used, the original zip file that causes problems, and the BAD decompre...
