Re: One Page Showing Current Status of All Cores

That documentation is open source and you can contribute to it if you'd like. https://mister-devel.github.io/MkDocs_MiSTer/editing/ <-- See here for a guide on how to do that. It's fairly simple. Any cores listed that are unofficial should be put into a separate table for unofficial cores personally. There's more than enough cores for me to keep tr...

I guess the only positive out of this system is that not counting region variants, there's less than 400 games and probably less than 200 worth playing.

Personally i have no interest in the N64 and have 0 nostalgia for it, but i still support this core on patreon for the beauty of the project

Paper Mario is worth playing regardless.

The hobby market for FPGAs was always a promotional tool for Intel, it's never been a serious investment with any serious profit margins. It's to get people used to using Intel's products so when they get into the professional space it's what they are used to.

Re: Tapper Arcade Video Resolution

It could be similar to the Sega Genesis core when playing Sonic 2 in 2-player, where it's not "true" interlaced. that game specifically doesn't output interlaced to the TV, it outputs 240p while the game appears like it's interlaced.

Re: Tapper Arcade Video Resolution

511x240 is interlaced, otherwise it would be a 2:1ish aspect ratio. Interlaced video on MiSTer often reports that way. Interlaced IS basically 240p but it's alternating which lines it draws the 240 lines on vertically.

Yeah, Time Scanner runs on Sega System 16 (core by Jotego). Unreleased/undeveloped/etc... that aren't on MiSTer: There is Super Pinball Action by Tecmo which ran on something similar to the Ninja Gaiden Hardware. There's also Hot Pinball/Gals Pinball which is a sleazy pinball game that is very similar hardware too. http://adb.arcadeitalia.net/lista...

Check resistors R3 for 200 ohms and R4 for 1000 ohms with a multimeter. I've seen misteraddons resolve it for someone by having them replace a resistor that went bad. Other times replacing the LED will be required if the red LED isn't working anymore.

Re: New to MiSTer. I have some questions about an arcade set up.

For a calibration screen I would use the service menu in one of the arcade cores. the issue with calibrating to one system however is that your monitor does not 1:1 match the monitor used by each of these arcade systems, so you may line it up on one, and then another won't line up at all. Typically there is a "service" on/off switch in th...

Re: Advice about PVMs

If you are in Europe, PVMs are really not that much of an upgrade over a regular Sonys, since they all have RGB via SCART. I understand that they are sought after in the US, since americans never got RGB hookups on their TV sets, except for the PVMs. Other than RGB, they do have some nice service menus etc, but most consumer sets have that as well...

Turn on the GPU slowdown option under the miscellaneous submenu in the OSD and reset the games that don't work. See if that works.

Also make sure you don't have any "unsafe" hack options (U) turned on in there currently.

Re: Ini-Settings with 3840x1080 Display and Aspect Ratio? [Solved]

Aforementioned where? 1:1 aspect ratios are not accurate 99% of the time. The correct aspect ratios of analog video output for each core is going to vary and it's already driven by the analog video output. If you are doing this via HDMI, what kind of BVM with HDMI inputs do you have that has that kind of extreme aspect ratio? That's what is called ...

Re: Discussion and Development of a 'MiSTer 2.0' Modular Hardware Platform

I think the real successor will be when Intel announces a true successor to the Cyclone V SoC line, which they haven't yet. The cyclone series is all about low cost/low power applications. The Cyclone 10 line doesn't have an SoC-FPGA yet, it's possible they may make one with a combined Cyclone 10 GX architecture with an SoC with probably 200k+ LE's...

On the face of it, it would be much less powerful as a result of it not having integrated HPS. You would somehow have to add a dual core arm processor and at least 1GB DDR3 to it in order to be relatively similar.

porting to the Analogue Pocket? obviously desirable given the hardware It's far less capable hardware than the current MiSTer platform so it feels like a step backward, however it's handheld and cheaper so I can understand why some people get excited I guess porting to another random "alternative" FPGA ? if it's HALF the price of a DE10 ...

What happens when you use a USB gamepad instead? Same behavior? If so it's something that might need fixing in the core (software is causing some kind of inversion of the axis on one joystick when that setting is turned on), if not then it could be something in Main or in your hardware layout.

it's pretty much impossible to brick a MiSTer. Worst case scenereo, you have to copy your saves to a pc and reflash your sd card.
