Re: MiSTer in the Commodore 65 / MEGA65 wedge case
That's sad thing.. With floppy the case looks much better. Without floppy it's ugly - I'm not buying this definitely. Lemme guess - normal cases will be sold out before it will be announced to public. That's only a matter of personal taste :-). I think the one without the floppy is pretty and slim. And floppies were very unreliable even in the 80t...

Well "right" is relative and subjective. But "high" seems to be set already .Darthcustom wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 8:31 am At the right price, the Mega65 can be worth it even if it is just a C64 with integrated SD slot, disk and 40 Mhz turbo.

Re: Limit Scandoubler to 15kHz Modes?
I guess what is further weird is that "guru meditation" = internal Amiga error, right? Is the Mister display even relevant for that? Does it crash the same under vga_scaler? To guess a little bit more, this could be a hint, that the Mister monitor device is not perfectly Amiga OS friendly. That's my Minimig config for a Full-HD monitor a...

Re: Limit Scandoubler to 15kHz Modes?
Isn't 1024x768 supposed to be around 48khz? If you want to blame scandoubler for 66khz it wouldn't be due to doubling the vertical resolution, which its not because it looks like it only gets to 990 px vertical? If it were the scandoubler's fault it would be like it was adding only 222 resolution or roughly 15khz worth, which would have to be some...

Re: Limit scandoubler to 15kHz modes?
I can confirm that, Minimig RTG modes, VGA and scandoubler are currently not a good combination.
Not only with CRTs, LCDs with VGA input have the same issues.

Re: Occasional Freezing
Cooling is not the problem here, i have the same freezes with Xanth. And it's not a complete freeze, the game goes on after an ingame event is triggered. In the case of Xanth it's the periodic ringing of the kitchen telephone. After the internal ringing event is triggered, the game runs fine until the next user action (for example "open door&q...

Re: Remap win-key for keyboards without it
According to this thread , it looks like if you can plug in another keyboard with the key to map at the same time as the keyboard without it, you could map the key. Wow, thanks for pointing me in the right direction, that actually and surprisingly works! First you have to press the substitution key (on the keyboard without the win-key) and then th...

Re: Remap win-key for keyboards without it
Another idea could be a dedicated menu-key instead of F12 or win-F12 (maybe as an option in mister.ini).

Remap win-key for keyboards without it
Lots of older (mechanical) keyboards do not have a win-key.
But some cores (e.g. ao486 or Archie) need that win-key to open the Mister menu (win-F12).
So my question is: How can one remap the win-key without having a win-key?
The kbd*.map files seem to be binary, so no easy manual editing of those ...

Re: Generic RTL8723B Wifi/BT Dongle
Could find a TP-Link TL-WN823N v2 stick and managed to get in working (although there are "Path_A RX/QK" fails in the log, whatever that means). And yes, it's sloooooow (500 to 700 kB/s) compared to cable (~ 5 MBit). Now i've only one annoyance left for my perfect Mister config: Find some way to autostart "loadkeys de" :-) There...

Re: Generic RTL8723B Wifi/BT Dongle
Well, it seems i'm not very lucky with those sticks. First tried a D-Link DWA-131 A1G i had in my hardware pile. Not recognized. Then a D-Link DWA-171 C1G (which could/should work, but not out of the box, as the WiFi-Wiki states). Recognized as memory-stick, but not as Wifi. And at last a "PowerON" BT/Wifi combo-stick. Recognized, but fai...

RTG behaviour with I/O-Board and VGA
Trying to configure RTG, but so far without success. Using a BENQ TFT with native Full-HD resolution and VGA. My (relevant) .ini settings are: vga_scaler = 1 forced_scandoubler = 1 vscale_mode = 2 ; which is essentially 1, because of the doubled resolution from forced_scandoubler video_mode = 9 ; Full-HD PAL (there is no difference to mode 8 Full-H...

Generic RTL8723B Wifi/BT Dongle
Tried a NoName RTL8723B Wifi/BT Dongle, but without success.
dmesg log says tell Sorgelig about it
Loads rtl8723bu_nic.bin but direct firmware load afterwards fails with error -2 (rtl_bt/rtl8723b_config.bin).
