Re: Verify your PSX/PS1 discs before posting
Cracks, old or new. I'm not aware of a generic patcher, especially because LibCrypt has changed a lot between versions and every game used it differently. Yeah, that's an endless pit of variability. I wonder how many bad cracks are still floating out there too. However I did find this list: https://psxdatacenter.com/sbifiles.html which seems to be...

Re: Verify your PSX/PS1 discs before posting
Just a reminder that the dev has requested that we don't report bugs _at all_ at this stage of development. Multi-bin images (which Redump uses) are also not supported yet if I recall. Correct, but we do have the compatibility thread where people can report their findings. Until we have SBI support, LibCrypt games *must* be patched versions, and t...

Verify your PSX/PS1 discs before posting
The only proper versions you should be using are listed at www.redump.org . Those discs are verified by checking multiple dumps of multiple discs of the same game. You can then check your own dump against the MD5/SHA1 checksums/files listed there. If they match, you are good to go. If they do NOT match: abort, otherwise you are just wasting everyon...

Re: PSX Compatibility List
I hope everyone can see the lists I added from PlayStation DataCenter in the docs from Caldor in the 1st post. There are 3 extra tabs, for now just use the Runnable, Playable, Supported and a comment if need be. USA/NTSC EUR/PAL JAP/NTSC I leave whatever "Supported" means up to FPGAzumSpass. So I would ask everyone to add their games acco...

NIB preservation format?
Could someone shed some light on how to convert NIB files to a running format properly?
Using NIB-tools worked but the results are flaky to say the least (which could be entirely my fault)
I chose .G64 as output file type because it was complaining that .D64 would result in data loss.

Re: PSX Compatibility List
Working imo means that I could finish the game without any problems.
So before we start reinventing the wheel again, could we use the Dosbox legend for example
https://www.dosbox.com/comp_list.php?letter=a.
Thus runnable - playable - supported or something similar?

Re: SCRIPT : mac_address_change.sh *bug?*
Well it would still fail sometimes,(I'm using it for something else also) so I dove into it again and I think i figured it out now 100% :D 1. The reason hexdump fails is because of not using this parameter -v Cause hexdump to display all input data. Without the -v option, any number of groups of output lines, which would be identical to the immedia...

Map space to a controller button
Hello,
This could be highly illogical but bare with me. I need to map the space to a controller button, that I do not use. Sometimes I need to assign buttons, but there is no way to skip one just by using the controller. I have to use the keyboard.
Can this be done?

SCRIPT : mac_address_change.sh *bug?*
This is something I ran into and wanted to report on. Now I'm no programmer so be gentle  I had an issue where an invalid mac address was created. After some troubleshooting I found the mac_address_change.sh. Afaict it does not create universally administered unicast addresses properly. Only x0- x4- x8- xC- are unicast. Which is probably the r...

is LUKS encryption in this Linux release?
The reason I ask is because I will be settings up some CIFS and I hate storing passwords on insecure disks.
And it might be a easier to just buy a 'large' sdcard. But none the less I would like to know

Yes pleaseNeocaron wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 3:33 pm Since no good soul could help me with that I recompiled the core myself with the debug menu activated, it wasn't as simple as I wanted it to be, but it works ^^ If some people not very knowledgeable with Quartus want me to do a tutorial about it, let me know.

Re: MiSTer No Longer Mounting My USB Drive at Startup
What is the reason for using these older filesystems? I'd personally favor ext4 if I could. Simplicity. But there's no problem using ext4 on a USB drive. Brilliant :D Note that both ext4 and NTFS are case sensitive which can lead to strange problems: one time I had 2 directories in the games directory with the same name but different case. I'm a n...

Re: Phoenix ROMs now supported in CPS2
This is so we can run decrypted code. I don't like having to encrypt/decrypt/encrypt everything to patch something. Why? can't we just patch in memory? I'd rather load a patch on top so I wont have to touch the ROM at all :D :D :D :D :D :D :D  , thank you I needed that today This is so we can run decrypted code. Re: MT32-Pi and the Pi Zero 2 W
At this point I am wondering how much performance gain is possible by running essential features only. So no screen, no output connectors, just the minimal requirement for proper gaming. And would it be enough to compensate for the 150mhz difference?

That's an SDRAM module. I know, but I was wondering if the Pi Zero 2 W could be hooked up the same way. I don't care about the hat if there is a way to integrate it like the SDRAM Module. Would sure be nice :D EDIT: These videos have nice benchmarks that shows that the RPI3 and the RPIZ2 do not differ that much. Afaict (and I'm no expert) it would...

Re: Feature Request: ao486 core, mount ZIP files like ROMS
Of course its not a memory hog. DOSBox has 632k free and does the same thing.
Their tools on the Z:\ drive are just external calls. The underlying OS or in this case DOSBox picks up the other end.
So this mounting problem has been solved before. Could that be adapted for AO486?

Feature Request: ao486 core, mount ZIP files like ROMS
Hello, It would be real nice to use ZIP files like ROMS for the AO486 core. The first step would be to mount ZIP files read-only, like a hard drive. The second step would be to mount an overlay folder on that drive, fusing them into one. (a bit like ROMS but for DOS, read from ZIP, write to the overlay) This has multiple benefits ( probably a lot m...
