Re: Star Parodier and the the Super System Card/Bootrom

Even Juoki/Altered Beast should work with the Japanese 3.0 system card, excepting for its first Japanese batch — but maybe it's the more popular dump circulating everywhere because a lot of people seems to mention this game!

Re: Flip / Rotate Mode Consistency especially Gorf

The Capcom games' screen flipping isn't a feature of the core, but what was implemented by Capcom on their PCB. Macro explained earlier why a simple "vertical flip" was not possible for Gorf in direct video output. Most of the Astrocade based arcade games make intensive use of the vertical interrupts to do colour changes & screen upda...

Re: Updater Script Not Starting

You probably need to set fb_terminal=0 in the mister.ini file.
Having it set to 1 prevented the update scripts from running on my CRT setup.

Simple Help Opening VHD files on MacOS X

Hello, I looked for help on how to deal with VHD hard drive image file on MacOS X, and while I found a few solutions, most were quite cumbersome. The simplest I've found is to simply run this command in the terminal: hdiutil attach -imagekey diskimage-class=CRawDiskImage [path/to/file.vhd] This mounts the VHD file as the hard drive it represents, a...

Re: Flip / Rotate Mode Consistency especially Gorf

I think the logical process is to activate the vga_scaler and specify a high enough resolution for the core in the Mister.ini so that it can rotate the image. But I also think that workaround's thinking is to rotate vertical games to make them fit into an horizontal screen, not to go 180 degrees as the original poster was hoping for. I can't really...

Isn't it ironic this is called Darius Plus while it looks like a stripped down version of Super Darius?

Re: Star Parodier and the the Super System Card/Bootrom

I never got a Turbo CD console, but I heard a couple of reports of CD games glitching with it at the time. It was so rare though. There were also a couple of such issues on the Japanese hardware (the first pressings of Juoki and Tokimeki Memorial had issues on certain hardware combination, if I recall correctly).

Re: PC88 Core

I can't confirm it since I don't have a Windows computer to compile quartus executables, but Puu released today an update to support external font (although I don't have the readme to see the details), and he fixed that output error while he were at it.

That's beyond my current ability, but wow, what a smart way to do it. What would us PCE lovers be, without you and Chris :D

Thank you very much, knowing it's feasible warms my mind already, somehow.

Re: PC88 Core

Congratulations on your work puu, it is really very impressive! I didn't expect the compatibility to be this good.
The PC-88 (and particularly the PC-80) are amongst my favourite 8-bits computers. I'm totally psyched about your project!

A Tandy core would be pretty darn amazing. It's hands down my favourite way to play earlier Microprose games. The Pirates! version for it in particular is gorgeous!

Extracting saves from PC-Engine real hardware

Hello, this question popped in my mind after a remark from Sorg on github about the Memory Base 128 save file format for the MiSTer core, making me assume there is a way to extract save date from PC-Engine. If there is such a way, could anybody share it with me? What sort of setup and skills would be needed? I have a lot of saves I'd love to browse...
