M.U.L.E
Atari 800 comes natively with 4 joysticks support, supposedly, although I haven't had the joy of trying it yet.
If one or more of your friends can decypher Japanese, Super Momotaro Dentetsu 2 for the PC-Engine is an amazing 5 players board game, with tons of variety, and it teaches geography too!

Re: Latest update deleted Save file?
The first time, it could well have formatted the backup (it's one of the menu items after all).
Do you update using scripts? Maybe something went wrong at a step of the process? Just speculating.

It may be more efficient, but you are ignoring that there is no containment, and thus stagnation of hot air without a case. So effective cooling matters less than in an encased context.

Re: MiSTer Computer Cheat Sheet FAQ
A little addon: regarding the CPC, some floppy games will report an error when using the CAT command. This means they are CPM formatted. You launch them by typing: |cpm The | (vertical bar symbol) is obtained by holding the shift key and pressing the “[” one (left bracket) on an US keyboard, assuming the CPC keyboard layout is English as well. On s...

Oh, thank you for the tip.
I tried it: it switches for a few seconds to 15khz at 50hz refresh rate, then seems to switch back to 31khz sadly.

Re: MiSTer Computer Cheat Sheet FAQ
The problem is that USB keyboards layouts themselves vary as much, if not more, so that is next to impossible untill there is a global keyboard format (I won't probably spoil much by saying neural interfaces will happen way before that is even likely!).

Re: Would a Super Game Boy core/function be possible?
In my experience it's very sketchy at moment, not working on the first load of the rom, then staying when you load another, as if there were some kind of memory displacement in time. But I confess since it doesn't support the sound output provided by the SFC and don't like most of the choices of the colour palettes, I just keep it turned off.

Thankfully, a working one is supplied at the core's github : https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Amstrad ... mstrad.rom
Just rename it to boot.rom and drop it in the CPC games folder.

As a first move, in my experience, you should look up games with NES 2.0 headers. I had a bunch of issues with my older sets, almost all solved by starting to use such dumps.

Re: Pre-Feature Request: Split MRAs into folders
I would say no, and my thinking is simple: people who run updater scripts regularly don't probably care about structure and categories first, but want stuff to work and be updated while not having to second guess it. I haven't run the updater script in ages, because not only have I organised my MRAs, but my computer and console cores as well. Like ...

I ordered mine from the Americas, and it had to go over the ocean, and I was expecting it to be inspected/taxed/stolen. None of it happened. I guess without a case, it looks too foreign to attract the attention!

Re: Recommendations for low latency Saturn to USB adapter
I share your fondness for those controllers, and got myself a Mayflash adapter . Although it was surprisingly cheap, it seems to work nicely. It's my current default controller with the Sega arcade stick. The only issue I've had so far is that it defaults to setting the direction axis as hatswitches: you have to press A+Start each time you restart ...

I do not own that game, but I can tell you the Gameboy core exhibits a lot of such graphical glitches, so I'll bet on a core issue. I don't think anybody is maintaining it at the moment, but I might be mistaken.

Re: Arcade Card BIOS
I just checked it and it doesn't happen in game for me, but just in attract mode. I get the same weird, lengthy pause too at the transition from the world map in attract mode.
Then it is _super_ glitched. A total mess.
You don't need to reset for the glitch to occur David: booting the game first with Arcade Card enabled as default will trigger it.

Re: Macintosh Plus Setup
The Macintosh Plus was hardly used with a hard drive. It was an extreme luxury. You just booted the system (from 1 to 6, or even 7.1 if I recall, it was fitting on a single floppy) and swapped disks to load apps. Before OS 6 and the Multifinder, you couldn't multitask: you were running a single application at a time. The Macintosh Plus can only boo...

Re: Custom ini entries for arcade games
Actually that's what I was told, and it's not! The setname is what is being used and it is set to reflect the name of the romset used by the core, which is what it actually is using! I had issues with most arcade cores and custom settings, trying to use RBF as a basis as I was told, and today @paisleyboxers on Jotego's channel told me all about it....

Oh that's not the CD, that's the PCM playback of the PC Engine. It is quite common on the real machine, and especially noticeable if you play through an equalizer amplifying bass or with headphones.

I shall test this someday when I plug my MiSTer in hdmi again. I'm very excited to see how it renders now!
I'm a big supporter of blurry options: my favourite console, the PC-Engine, may be beautiful in RGB, but the Japanese games made heavy use of the r-f/composite blur for their Japanese font and make it easy on the eye.

Re: PC88 Core
n80 should be the first rom, as the N mode you can select in the core aims for compabitility with the PC-8001.
I am guessing that n88.rom is probably just the 0, 1, 2 and 3 roms concatenated.
