Re: Yet another integer scaling question

The problem I have with integer scaling is that it only applies to the height of the display. The width is scaled according to aspect-ratio, which is fine for games with horizontal orientation. But when I have a vertically oriented arcade game and add vertical scan-lines, they look really bad. I wish there was an option to apply integer scaling to...

Re: Best Launcher?

If you look inside the binary TinyLauncher.exe, you will find two strings "C:Assign ENV: RAM:" and "C:Assign T: RAM:", these are commands that are executed when TinyLauncher.exe starts. (..) I see, thanks for the explanation. I probably won't feel the effect of this too much because I'll have a different HDF for the games launc...

Re: Yet another integer scaling question

Hi! I'm a big fan of using integer scaling, especially because I also tend to like using scanlines and they will look horrible if the scaling is not an integer. What I sometimes struggle with (mostly on the Amiga and ao486 cores) is how to ensure the screen is properly centered. Are there any settings I can mess with to control this? (for the recor...

Bumping it in case any of the new users can help :) Also, I have no idea what I did (maybe pressed some wrong key) and now the Amiga "visible screen" is on the top-left of my monitor, and no longer to the right as previously mentioned. Meaning, I have the same problem, but on a different location :). EDIT: If I change the "TV Standar...

Hi, I've been wanting to configure a launcher with my Amiga core to allow me boot directly into it and select Games and Demos without having to use the keyboard or mouse. Re: Atari Lynx?

I would also very much like to see a Lynx core, but the fact that it seems to use a few proprietary chips will make it harder to develop (as opposed to reusing many of the chips already available in FPGA). I am sure that at some point we'll see one. The MiSTer dev community is amazing and the Lynx is not such a niche system that will not get someon...

Re: Real floppy drive

TBH my primary interest is Amiga. I have floppy drive associated with that computer. But my primary objective is to wire the floppy drive to MiSTer in dumbest way possible in term of any interface intelligence. Anyone should be able to use floppy drive with any core, if it is (or was, in that era) possible to use PC drive in that one specific syst...

Re: Floppy motor signals

Hi ! Would it be possible to bring the floppy sound buzzer support upstream ? It's great, useful, very simple, and doesn't IMHO compromise anything to add it. It's a bit annoying to have to use an alternate build for this feature. Also, bringing it upstream would enable other people to add it to their IO Boards at a ridiculously low price. Assumin...

Re: Second Reality Demo

Well, it's very complicated... We need a proper MT32 for early games and a proper GUS for late games and a proper SB for intermediate ones I guess :) It is a bit more complex than that.. :) For MIDI, you need an MT-32 for early games and an SC-55 or SC-88 for the later ones. For FM, the best option (more compatible) is probably a Sound Blaster Pro...

I'm very excited about this project!

Will it be possible, after the adapter is finished to add Floppy disk support to other cores from computers that had floppy drives back in the day? Or is this an Amiga exclusive?

Cheers.

Re: MiSTer ao486 developers

Is it possible to add an MPU-401 and an FPU? (if a developer picks it up, that is).

What I'm trying to ask is if it's technically feasible, or if there is a limitation from the MiSTer platform (FPGA size or otherwise) that would prevent any of these to be implemented on the AO486?

Cheers,

To add, I've tried installing QEMM97 (aka QEMM 9.0) and it get's stuck in the optimization cycle, as it goes into the "Software Detection Phase" it gives the same "Configuration too large for memory" error, reverting back to the previous step.

In a nutshell, it get's into a loop and does not finish installing.

Re: QEMM Not Working on Core 20.09.07

I know why QEMM may stop working. While creating config QEMM search for holes (large array of 00 or all FF) in ROM areas to insert RAM/page there. And once BIOS or VGA ROM are updated, these areas will be changed and then it will hang or crash. So basically you have to run optimize utility after each BIOS/VGA ROM update. This makes sense. I've tri...

QEMM Not Working on Core 20.09.07

Hi, Seems like my MS-DOS with QEMM stopped working with the version released today. On my MS-DOS boot menu, when I select my QEMM config it does like a soft boot (?) and if I select it again it says "Configuration too large for memory". If I select QEMM on my first run and then EMM on the second run, my available memory is showing 120Kb (...
