I don't know about other cores, but that behavior is entirely consistent with a 486 PC. The beep came from the PC speaker, not the audio card. It was always piercingly loud. I recall my BIOS had an option to disable it though.

Also make sure 96KHz audio is disabled in the MiSTer INI. That may not work with your receiving device.

Has anyone else tested the offline mode? I copied the .ini and .sh files into my Scripts folder and the five files from the github folder into Scripts/.MiSTer_SAM. When I run the script, I get a message saying that SAM will start running in 10 seconds. Then 10 seconds later, it says that I'm not connected to the internet. Any idea what I'm messing...

I've just managed to fix the problem I was having, error messages involving Update_MiSTerBIOS.sh, by deleting that script and all other scripts that turned out to be related to the old RetroDriven update scripts. You need to turn those services on. There are scripts in the Scripts directory - press F12 from the main MiSTer menu to find them. If you don't have them download Update_All, copy it to your microSD card, and launch it from Scripts. It will download the others.

Your best bet is to get the tri-mode board and use the Xarcade with Xinput (mode 3).

It works for me. Try it immediately after a reboot. Try logging in via ssh. Do either of those work?

We've had something similar happening with MiSTer_SAM. A power cycle will sort it out at least.

It's almost always the USB cable. Make sure you get one of the known good ones listed on the mt32pi wiki.

My thought is to do this primarily on the ARM / Linux side.

• Virtual controller in Linux that can send commands like a real controller.
• Network service to receive controller inputs from remote player.

There may be existing Linux projects to do both of those things already.

Would it be possible to have it keep a record of what games it's cycled though? My thinking is that if it did this, you could have the script cycle through all the user's titles before repeating them again. Interesting idea! My recommendations for people trying this is to create a favorites folder for each system, put your favorite game roms in it and set the Attract mode to use the favorites folder. You basically have your whitelist and it is easier to play you favorite games. I lowered the time for it to kick in but I might change that again. There's a lot of wisdom...

I saw this. What I'm asking is for some suggestions as to how to wire these up per the diagram. Breadboard? Is there a breakout board with terminals?

When your MiSTer is idle a game is loaded, then another every 2 minutes. Want to play? Pick up the controller and go! The MiSTer will wait to load a new game.

I'm not much of an electronics guy. I managed to order the right parts, but I could use some suggestions or guidance on a simple solution for wiring the TTGO to the OLED screen.

We added a new feature to the script I think folks are going to love. While Attract Mode is running you can wiggle the mouse to stop cycling. We're hoping to add keyboard and joystick support as well, but this is a proof of concept.
