Re: Your favorite NES palette?

I'm using PC-10 at the moment just because the only thing I remember about the colours on the NES from when I was little was Mario being yellow as opposed to white when he got the fire flower. PC-10 seems to be the only palette that achieves this but I'm sure that wasn't the case on other emulators. I may compare to my PAL NES and create a new pale...

Re: Screen Mirroring

The above is the way to resolve this but any game which supports this would be changable in the DIP settings (arcade only).

Also please don't do that if it's an original Point Blank, they are getting hard to find! You'd be far better off I think selling it to someone as a project (if it's missing guns, game etc) and buying a generic JAMMA cabinet.

Very interesting, especially as it is optional and only runs on the linux side.

How easy is it to compress/decompress these files and how does the menu handle them? Like folders? I imagine it would have to if you have the entire Neo Geo set in one file.

Re: SNAC 6 button support?

I definitely recommend using their SMT assembly service. Those components are tiny and it won't add much to the cost. This is what the guys are suggesting. Bummer if you already placed the order.

One you recieve them, all you think have to solder on are the DB9/PCE connectors. Much easier!

I would assume this is a bug. Probably best to report it on github.

You do mean auto save don't you? MiSTer does not make use of save states.

If you really can't build one here's a preassembled unit, still cheaper than an OSSC (which can't downscale until the Pro comes out):

Re: A new core to use MiSTer as a scaler?

GBS Control looks interesting, it seems like a DIY device though, not sold anywhere. It's based on a widely available and cheap scaler and just requires a fairly simple modification to turn it into a really good scaler which is still being improved. You won't get better value than that, ESPECIALLY if you want to downscale as this is a feature rese...

That's awesome, I hope those signals are available on the ao486 core, and that you can get something similar working there. Drive sounds were a big part of the nostalgia! Most of my gaming growing up was on DOS PCs, so anything that can makes ao486 better is exciting to see. Yep, though the most nostalgic sound of all won't be present.. that all t...

I found this in /rtl/soc/floppy/floppy.v

Code: Select all

    (io_address == 3'd2)?   { 3'b0, motor_enable, dma_irq_enable, enable, selected_drive } :        //digital output register
This looks like it could be it, motor_enable is self explainatory, selected drive I assume will be your sel signal, enable = step? dma_irq_enable can't be direction..

There's not much room on there for something like this.

I have a breakout video board coming up that I'm considering adding S video to, but you may be out of luck if you wanted it in the same form factor as the current IO board.

It's in the amiga and atari st cores and quite a few emulators too.

This is what I'm working on:

Re: Re: Fan label up or down on PCB plate?

That depends, really. If you have no case, I 100% agree - but if it's enclosed, blowing air onto the heatsink...without proper side ventilation...will simply cause the now-hot air to collect and swirl around inside the case, raising ambient temperatures. With closed cases, it's usually best to exhaust for that reason, but you'll still need side or...

You will get better cooling blowing cold air onto the heatsink but drawing hot air away from the heatsink is probably fine too. I don't really know if it gets hot enough in general to worry too much about it.
