Re: Upgrade AES stick or build new fight stick?

By the way, I got the Soul Caliber 6 stick for only about $70 new and it's fine, but I prefer the Razor Panthera overall due to the extra weight. Both work great via USB on MiSTer.

Re: Upgrade AES stick or build new fight stick?

Nah, sell it to get your money and keep the history intact and just buy a new stick. I have an AES and agree with you on the buttons, but I actually don't mind the stick (if the microswitches are working and the spring is still good). For MiSTer, why not just buy a Hori USB stick for PS4 which can be had pretty cheap. If you want to keep the AES ae...

Re: Recommended WiFi Dongles

Without reading up on anything, I just bought this one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PB1X4CN/

It worked out of the box, but it does seem to have a weak connection that is slow, but this is just my perception (vs wired).

How can I actually measure the speed of it while connected to the MiSTer?

Currently I have a XXSV 128 MB Ram module in my MiSTer and it fails with the CPS2 core. Can anyone with a module that works can recommend me one? I am currently looking at the module from ManuferHi but I don't want to spend money on it just to find out that it also has problems with the core. Re: Recommendations for reliable wireless joypad

I tried out one of the Retro-bit 2.4GHz Saturn pads for several days, and ended up sending it back. At best the D-pad just felt sloppy to me, like it was too sensitive to the diagonals (I love the Saturn controllers in general and their wired version doesn't have the same loose feel to me). But the worst part was the directional controls would ran...

Thank you Jotego for the help looks like I’ll go back to the seller of the ram to see if he will check it for me. Re: CAVE 68000 Any News for MiSTer

Thanks XtraSmiley. When I initially setup the PS3 joystick it never asks to assign a pause. It assigns left, right, up, down, then the 4 buttons, then left trigger right trigger, select and start, menu, menu select and menu back. Do you mean after I have done this I should then reassign the joystick press to some obscure key I don't use on say my ...

So the default for pause on the controller may be P3, so if you reassign it to another button, leaving P3 unassigned, it may allow the core to run with that controller.

Regardless, you should let Nullobject know via a bug report so he can squash it!

Aspie wrote: Wed Feb 24, 2021 1:26 am Well I have sussed out the problem. It's nothing to do with the core, it's the PS3 joypad. The left hand joystick when it is pushed in is pausing the game. I am not intentionally pressing it in but because of frantic movements it is registering. I need to find a way of deactivating that button.
Can't you just assign pause to another button?

Yeah, it seems like "auto" makes it that game consoles and some PCs don't enable the auto scan, I'm not sure what signal must be sent to the TV to have it default to turning overscan off, but I guess the MiSTer doesn't send it.

4K TV MiSTer Text Cut Off

I have an LG C9 OLED 4k TV and have set my ini video mode to 1920 x 1080 60Hz, which looks great on cores, however all MiSTer text (like text while running scripts) and my wallpapers seem to have the edges (all sides, top an bottom) cut off a bit. Is this because the TV is 4k or is there another setting I need to change?

I recently got mine, so 1-2 a week I try a new arcade game core and beat it (if I can).

I would use it for consoles a lot more if save states were ever incorporated. I'm too old and too busy to get really good at old games and need the help beating some of them!

Thank you for the input. Knowing that F1 is a key that can't be mapped is enough. I'll get a keyboard (have a few at home, but currently traveling).

Any way to just make the wallpaper script auto start? That would be the way to go IMO.

Guys, a little help please. I've downloaded and run Ranny's script, which has created a folder with wallpapers on my SD card. I don't have a keyboard unfortunately, so I cannot hit F1. Is there a joystick...

Re: SHMUP Slowdown / Accuracy of Arcade Cores

Yeah, this is a sticky subject because in the real world, operators probably did some swaps with 10/12mhz A boards and different games, so when you went to play in an arcade, there is no telling what you really got. I'm not sure if it should be based on how CAPCOM shipped the games (and some games had both versions ship I think), or if the core sho...

Very cool of you! The above poster hit the nail on the head, the specific developers could use them and also each has their own focus areas. TL:DR version is to just leave jotego's turbo mode on, as 12mhz is how most people with PCBs play those games.
So two things, 1. is there any issue with earlier games not designed at 12mhz having problems of some kind? And 2. He should rename them to 10mhz mode and 12mhz mode instead of turbo on/off.

That happens to be the exact TV I have. 1440 will not work on the C9 so be careful not to set that as your resolution or you will get locked out. 1080p with integer scaling and the cut off areas will be visible.

LG Oled using HDMI all arcade cores including jotego cut off the bottom and top of the Display on Screen! Just to double check, you do have your .ini file set correctly right? The default I think maximizes the screen, but cuts off the top and bottom a slight bit. Setting it it integer scale at 1080P will shrink the screen down, keep it from...
