Re: Saturn 3D controller and PS1 Dualshock possible with Daemonbite?

At this point I think the PS3,PS4,PS5 controllers are a better fit than PS1 and PS2 as PS 3 to 5 don't need adapters, you can chose wired or Bluetooth.
And for 3D games on the Saturn a PlayStation pad would work better.

Re: Joe Montana Football

Make sure your system set for US/NTSC and not PAL.
Games often run slow in Pal, as they aren't correctly adjusted to the 50hz timing TVs used at the time.

Re: Software black frame insertion option on the MiSTer to get a motion blur free image

Not saying it's impossible, but you have to make the changes in each FPGA Core to support this.
The DE 10 Nano mostly runs on the FPGA Chip, the Arm processor side is mostly for file management/house keeping duties.

My Question is if this feature used on Low Level Software Emulation yet or not.

Re: Add an Overclock Option to Avoid Slowdowns

Sometimes the slowdown is often bad coding in the game and not the hardware or emulation of the hardware. Metal Slug on the Neo Geo as been found running on full speed with a rom hack For the SNES (on original hardware it would be a hardware mod) look for the SA-1 Hacks various games. Hacking the game to support the SA-1 chip speeds up those games ...

Make sure you have the switch set to Game Pad and not Steering Wheel.
Also you would want to update the MiSTer Mains, ether run the Update Script or the Update all Script as the Mister recently updated how it handles Xbox, PlayStation and Switch controllers.

Re: Issues with M30 (Genesis 2.4ghz using SNAC) playing Xenocrisis

The 3 button Genesis game pad works on duplexing a existing DB9 signal that the Sega Master System used as the Genesis was backwards compatible with Master System games (using a power base converter for the carts). The Master System pad has no encoders and the buttons wire directly to the system. The 3 button Genesis pad duplex the signal, so the c...

Re: Analog I/O board RGB levels

The real problem is almost anyone can make a I/O board, and there been many variants and adjustments made. For a while there was a inconsistency on what LEDS and Push buttons sizes are used on some MiSTer boards, and some of the Chinese made IO boards don't include all the pins for the SNAC. It can be too easily someone use the wrong Resistors on t...

Re: About metal jesus rocks video

Metal jesus shouldn't do any hardware base reviews. His game cube video adapter video and later fiasco proves as much. He should really stick to coving software/games. [Edited to add additional comments, after rewatching the video] From what I see watching Metal Jesus' videos (not just the one in question), he doesn't really know hardware that well...

Yes. The theoretical max devices for USB is like 127 devices (including hubs).

Re: Donkey Kong: Walking Sound Hack?

Question is partially how is those sounds played on the original board? Most of these early arcade boards utilize analog sound instead of digital samples. In DK's case its the various sound effects "jump", "walk" and "stomp" sounds are generated via analog circuitry, the music is digital. That is why every early consol...

The only thing you actually need other than the basic DE 10 NANO dev board is some sort of GTO USB adapter or GTO Hub. The board comes with small Micro SD card, Switching power supply (people outside of the US will need a wall adapt...

Re: Saturn ST-V and PlayStation Boards (Namco System 10-12, Capcom ZN 1-2) etc.

I believe the Saturn and the ST-V have similar architecture, developed by the same Defense contractor firm Lockheed Martin for Sega. But the Saturn and the ST-V have vastly different specs. Virtual On for the ST-V could not run on the Saturn, they had to dumb down some off the effects to get the game to run on the Saturn. The "PS1" boards...

RetroArch has a feature called "Run Ahead" that has the core calculate multiple frames based on various inputs then roll back to serve up the correct frame based on what your inputs actually were. This seems less than ideal, but I bet it feels better than the alternative. According to RetroPie's docs you're looking at about 5.5 frames of...

Whats the MiSTer output resolution set to?

I do know many of these consoles original hardware aren't a perfect 60hz or even 59.94hz (refresh of analog NTSC broadcasts.
Like the Neo Geo is at 59.18hz, the NES is at 59.826Hz,the SNES is at 60.08hz.
At least Dodonpatchi has a 60hz mode.

The Linux on the MiSTer SD card is really stripped down. You have to do it from the command shell.
And I never tried to see if that worked.
