Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development
I can't boot any game with the Antonio Villena's SDRAM. I hate to have been "prophetic" at an unsuspected time , but here we are; sticking to the official specs of the project, at least as far as the main hardware components are concerned, will keep you on the safe side regarding future developments based on the given MiSTer platform. Si...

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development
I can't boot any game with the Antonio Villena's SDRAM. I have the same problem as well! If you get this resolved please let me know!! Funny enough I had more game booting with the previews version of the core running on Antonio' Mister and sdram. With this one most games don't boot. But again it's pre alpha alpha alpha stuff. So you can e...

Re: PSX Compatibility List
Made some comparison shots of how it would look in different steps. (first is off, last is current) Please tell me what you think about it. I like it a lot! it looks great this way, really like 0.5 but I would add a 0.75 step as well. it would look something like "off, 0.25 , 0.50, 0.75, 1" If this structure of tweaking is poss...

Re: PSX Compatibility List
The core is absolutely amazing! On a side note, I did notice that the filtering activates over sprites, in Alien Trilogy, a DBZ combat game, and a few other that I tested. Anyway to make the filtering even more selective, or maybe a bit less intense? I tried a few settings but I find the effects a bit to intense (blurry) even for 3d objects. Do you...

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development
I have one of those odd 4 chip antonio vilenna boards too. Cant get many saturn games to work. I can get Die Hard arcade to run. Thinking of sellling it for official RAM. I suggest you not selling it until the core reaches maturity. Now it´s in alpha stage. Groovy. Thanks :) It works fine with everything else ive thrown at it :D Agreed!

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development
I just wanted to debunk the idea that the core doesn't work at all with Antonio Villena Mister and ram, I have a quad cell 128 ram stick and it does work with some game. It just requires multiple reset to get some games starting. I managed to play Duke Nukem, Virtua Cop 2, Herc's Adventures, Fifa 97, Daytona USA. I got 2 games that should work whic...

Like other people said, your Mister is probably fine, but the usb board and the device connected in the usb port are probably all dead.

So it picks the best resolution + update all for any screen? If that's the case, it's pretty golden ^^

Re: Lets actually try Hybrid Emulation
Yes it seems stable at 1.2GHz. Though I didn't run it for long... I'm investigating speeding up the chip/chipram access. This goes via the full HPS-FPGA bridge. I have a few thoughts on this: i) Frequency the bridge is clocked at. ii) Increase bridge width iii) Try the lightweight bridge (supposed to be faster) iv) Burst support So far on these: i...

Thanks for these! Some people are rude af. That's a fact. What matters at the end, is that some people enjoy the effort too! The filters are pretty great, so thank you!

Re: Lets actually try Hybrid Emulation
Updated core and MiSter here in here: https://github.com/scrameta/MiSTer_Hybrid_Support They seem to work fine. I checked musashi, no changes on github. There are updatee to qemu, I might give it a spin to see if it works but don't expect anything significant. Have you tried it with the 1.2ghz overclocked? If so what are you results in the benchma...

Re: PSX Core Official Release
If that's what it is, this should be an option with the filters menu. It would be great for every core, and if it works with the retrotink 5X it should work with the DE-10 as well. I love how Mike Chi is the source of a lot of new features for th Mister project. It's pretty awesome really ^^ What I wonder is if this "forced HDR mode" actu...

Re: PSX Core Official Release
I think there is only one neat thing in having hdr. It's what Mike Chi did with the RT 5X with the latest update. You get the full HDR brightness for filters. It makes them look absurdly good, like there is actual phosphor in the TV. It's insane. So maybe that's what the PS1 digital is doing? A feature like system wide that triggers HDR would be pr...

Re: Lets actually try Hybrid Emulation
Hi, I thought I would share some of my results with this thread as another datapoint on hybrid emulation. One of my recent projects is the MCL86+ which is an 8088 emulation running on an 800Mhz Teensy 4.1. There is enough CPU power to emulate the 8088 at near x386 speeds as well as the local bus interface. Using this platform I am able to run a 65...

Re: Release DE10 Nano Overclock Kernel BETA
It would be nice to get a direct comparison with the mt32-pi as well. I keep saying "oh it's pretty close" but what I really mean is "I literally cannot tell the difference but I'm afraid of someone jumping in and calling me an idiot" Even without having a MT32pi, when I tried munt a few months ago I could tell it wasn't dead p...

Re: Release DE10 Nano Overclock Kernel BETA
I ended up doing a little test measuring temperatures at different speeds. The reported temperatures are meaningless given all the variables, but I wanted to see the relative temperature difference. We all seem to agree 800mhz (stock) with a fan and heatsink is safe, right? I have an aluminium heatsink and a noctua fan. I ran the test without a ca...

Re: SCUMMVM
Hello there, I was wondering if you were planning on bringing VRR to ScummVM? That would solve the screen tearing problems completely. I haven't tested it but it doesn't work out of the box with the current VRR main update right? The ScummVM build I do is against (ancient) SLD 1.2 because I fell that is the best fit given the platform specs. I don...

Hello there, I was wondering if you were planning on bringing VRR to ScummVM? That would solve the screen tearing problems completely. I haven't tested it but it doesn't work out of the box with the current VRR main update right? You're misunderstanding how this works. Re: MT32-Pi Why?
1.2ghz would never cook the arm on the de10. The arm OC is absolutely awesome and has been stable for months and months! On your hardware. So far. It could last for years, or it could blow up tomorrow. That's the nature of overclocking. The risk/benefit ratio may be acceptable for you, but if the project itself starts overclocking stuff, it's acce...

Re: MT32-Pi Why?
One of my two MiSTers isn't even stable with the overclock. The last thing we need to be doing is adding features into Main that are only stable if you won the silicon lottery. Just no. What's the amperage of your power supply? That could be the issue. Mine is 5amp. The sillicon lottery exist to a point. I'm sure 1.1 or even 1.0 would be stable fo...

1.2ghz would never cook the arm on the de10. The arm OC is absolutely awesome and has been stable for months and months! You get faster interface, faster unzip, faster updates, even dosbox has been brought into the very playable realm thanks to this and of course munt too. So if you can have extra ram or physical stuff in the DE-10 that were not me...
