Re: SNES Switch Controller vs 8bitdo 2.4

I have the Raphnet PS1 adapter and it works great. But if you're willing to go wired there are other 8bitdo options out there that will get you the same feel but with more buttons.

Have you tried a 1440p signal? My 1440p monitor also behaves weirdly with 1080p when for example running the update all script.

Anyone else find it crashes a lot? It usually plays ok on the first credit. The next game it's liable to crash or I get thick black horizontal lines across the screen. Sometimes it just stops and says game over. Super Hang On was playing perfectly before the update. Now I get a weird bar across the sky and the graphics have become all jittery. I'm...

As someone who grew up with the Amiga 500 I’m trying my best not to say something uneducated about this fine computer. I’m hoping that there are avid Atari ST users with a lot of ...

So, I played it for a few hours yesterday. And I really like the music and the general atmosphere of the game. But the controls... I just can't get my head around the controls. I almost rage quit out of the game when I was stuck on the water level and had fish and insects chasing me around. I could not get to grips with the double jump which felt a...

Re: Community Game Club Structure & Feedback

I think that would make it so the more popular games get picked. The downside is that less known games might get lost in the shuffle. Yes, that was something I considered too. I wouldn't love it if every game picked was one of the popular ones that we all know already, but I also don't love it when there's little discussion and participation becau...

Re: Community Game Club Structure & Feedback

I want people to be playing games they're excited about, so I've been thinking about how to make the more popular games more likely to come up when we use the randomizer. We avoided just taking a vote on what game to play because of the potential for needing tie-breakers due to the relatively low number of participants voting. It could take potent...

Re: CGC Game 10: Boulder Dash (Atari 800XL) [Computer]

Yeah, I concur on the lack of excitement over this one. I felt that I had to honor the RNG and stick with it. It probably doesn't do the Atari 800XL core justice as I'm sure not a lot of people would vote this port as their favorite game on the platform. Maybe we could incorporate weighting some of the nominations that get more attention - i.e. mu...

So I really thought about playing Bould Dash, a lot. But I have played that game so many times before. I was just about to start the game when I discovered that there is a version of Alley Cat on the Atari 800. I had to pinch myself. This is a game I have not played since, well on a PC at my mom's job, with CGA graphics. So a long time ago. I ended...

I don't really know what to say about Mario Bros. I know it's a classic and I played it tons on the NES back in the day (most likely due to lack of other options). I haven't played the Arcade version much but I guess it's an ok game. I really like the short tutorials before each stage, that feels like a typical Nintendo thing to do. But the control...

Re: Community Game Club Structure & Feedback

I think two threads is a good idea so that the selected game gets to shine a little bit. I agree that tons of threads get messy but if we decide to slow down the pace of how many games we do per month it might not become as messy. Regarding how many games per month I think it all depends on what type of game gets picked. If it's a simple old school...

Re: Community Game Club Structure & Feedback

For me one of the cool things about the Game Club is to discover new games and systems. There's probably no way I would have taken an interest in the Atari 800XL without this thing. Now I’m semi obsessed with it. But like I've said before I will be up for pretty much any structure. If people want more popular systems that’s fine by me. About the tw...

Re: CGC Game 9: Dracula (Intellivision) [Console]

Well unfortunately for me the InTv adapter I bought (Retronic Designs) is a true adapter and not an encoder, so it will send signals to the MiSTer accurate to the original flexible circuit that's folded in half within the controller. This means each single button on the controller sends multiple button presses to the MiSTer, and I'm fairly certain...
