That is great news! Since the monitor is listed with a max of 75hz, I am curious about 70hz DOS games displaying smoothly.

Cyclone V datasheet: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/p ... _51002.pdf
Absolute min/max operating temperature is listed at -55 to 125 deg C.
That is for the FPGA chip itself. Other components on the DE10-Nano may not be so forgiving.

Re: A case for 5x vertical crop in 1080p mode.
I have an possible use case for custom cropping. The vertical scroller CPS1 games appear to be outputting a vertical resolution (per the mister video info OSD box) of 393x224 instead of the expected 384x224. If I could crop off those extra pixels, I could possibly get 2x integer scaling at 1366x768 screen resolution. (My reason for wanting to try t...

If the fan is finicky, it may need 5v to startup. Try the 5v jumper position if it is on 3.3v (or missing entirely).

Re: Vertical Scanlines for integer scaled 256x224?
If I understand the current screen resolution logic correctly, I think integer scaling is only based on the vertical resolution, with horizontal resolution being calculated per the aspect ratio. I think you would probably need an option for the integer scaling to be based on the horizontal resolution, and the vertical resolution being calculated pe...

Re: Cannot get ao486 to boot VHD with MS-DOS 6.22
I followed along parts* of flynnsbit's video . (*Windows VHD Creation, ao486 fdisk, ao486 format) I grabbed the DOS 7.1 floppy image from the video, and ran fdisk and format from it. I then installed DOS 6.22 from installer floppy images. I did copy over the CD-ROM and mouse drivers from the DOS 7.1 floppy, though. It has been working OK for my DOS...

MiSTer Case with Internal USB Connectors
Big enough for 4x 8bitdo USB dongles, that is. Unless I have missed it, does anyone know if there is one in the works? I am wanting one, since my "console gaming" mister looks like a quadrapus with all the dongles sticking out. Antonio Villena's case, and the upcoming MSTR case are kind of close, with ports all on one side at least....

Re: Left side of core image get cut off
Timings for Genesis and SNES were off for me, too, using analog video on standard IO board, compared to real hardware. I compared my OSSC settings both of these cores to my consoles (MiSTer hooked up to OSSC compared with consoles hooked up to OSSC). Both cores needed different H. Samplerate compared to the consoles. Sampling Phase seemed "all...

Outboard MIDI
I have started looking at MIDI options, and was wondering what would work. I saw the PI-MIDI a few days ago. Would one also need something like Legaxy Pixels' MIDI board to be able to hookup to the PI-MIDI (hypothetically at least)? Despite owning a number of aftermarket sound cards over the years, I never got into MIDI, so I am trying to wrap my h...

OSSC Pro, perhaps. Depending on how close of a CRT look it could get, while still having low lag, would definitely pique my interest.

Here is the thread about multiple misters on the same network: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=478
It has steps for updating hostname/MAC address. (Although it sounds like that may not be the issue in this case.)

Re: Composite Adapter for MiSTer
Antonio's adapter is pretty good. It's actually better than my real NES's composite output, though as described in this thread, there IS a small amount of moving dot crawl. The artifacts on a real NES sit still but are much more visible. Thanks for the screenshots! Just curious, have you noticed any differences in some of the textures that game de...

Re: Non-square pixels, is changing the PAR possible?
To borrow from Nvidia control panel settings, it sounds like you would be looking for "Full-screen" scaling, instead of "Aspect ratio". Or perhaps, the ability to specify what the aspect ratio of the target display is. Not sure if that would actually be different in this case (from a "Full-screen" setting), or if there...

Re: Optical/Toslink audio not working with arcade cores
From looking at the schematics and reading posts on the AT forum, I was under the impression that digital IO was straight from the GPIO, and analog audio was a translation via a Sigma-Delta DAC.
I would guess that it would be an incompatibility with the digital signal and any device receiving the signal (amp, TV, etc.).

Not sure if this is the same thing. I was trying to start SF2 (WW/CE/HF) on the CPS1 core as player 2, but could not figure out a way, besides starting both P1 and P2, and winning as P2. I tried the specific keyboard shortcuts for both 2P coin and 2P start, but those did not appear to be behave any differently from mapped buttons on the controllers...

I would like to see an XT core, too. I grew up playing games on my grandparents' color IBM XT during many summers. It was definitely a unique experience compared to our 386 clone. Even the HDD seek sounds gave the experience a distinct flair.

Sonic 2 consistent screen size with integer scale for 240p
I have my mister setup for 720p integer scale. I tried playing Sonic 2 the other day. When it came to showing the two player versus, it showed in a window. I am assuming a 480 window in the 720 screen. I was wondering if there was a way to have a consistent experience across both single player (240p) and vs modes (480i). I vastly prefer scanlines o...

Re: What voltage is the 3.5mm audio jack on I/O board? (re: connecting to amplifier, volume is too loud)
I do not have a direct answer. I checked several audio threads on the AT forum , but did not find anything specific about line levels. I have used the analog audio from the 6.1 board through an OSSC, and the speakers on a NEC 20WMGX2 monitor and had no issues. I briefly checked for OSSC audio input specs, but did not immediately find any. I did fin...

From a fan's perspective, who is responsible for ao486 for MiSTer development? Is it largely Sorgelig? I see a few PRs from a few others, and I see ElectronAsh is working on PCI / video card integration. I don't interact much on Discord, so I am mostly blind to any info on there.

Last I checked, the included "bright" filter variants have linear (or mostly linear) transformations with no (or inadequate) rolloff at the top end, resulting in clipping/loss of highlight detail. I made a thread here about modifying the "bright" filters to have a (more) gradual rolloff: https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?f=33...

Semi off-topic, I wonder if the American NES outputs different colors than the AV Famicom. I have the AV Famicom and Mister hooked to the same TV with a splitter box. Switching back and forth between the two, I can't find a palette that visually matches the SMPTE color bars from the 240p test suite of the AV Famicom. Perhaps its related to the D93...

Whoa whoa whoa... first, I would need to understand exactly when the artifacts occur and specifically what causes them. Right now, it's not even being looked at. My reply wa...

Re: Palette Options
What I'm curious about now is if / how the NTSC artifacting discussed here will be addressed. Would you end up emulating the end result, or would you try to reproduce the composite signal being generated by the console (for analog output), and then try to reproduce decoding performed by televisions of the time (for HDMI output)? I wish I had kept ...
