Re: Feature request: Children Friendly/Kiosk/Party-Mode Menu

If a "children friendly" experience is desired, there are, perhaps, some arcade titles (at least on the alternatives / homebrew side) that are getting included in a default configuration (at least the .mra files, even if not using update_all) that should perhaps be excluded, or at least hidden?

The autosave topic has been rehashed a few times. It seems like at this point it would need to be a new dev with interest, to implement something themselves, which may or may not makes its way into the core mister framework.

Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System

My guess if we ever did get optical media support, is it might be handled through some sort of abstraction layer. Perhaps not too dissimilarly from how mt32 is handled, whether through the Linux subsystem (sort of like midilink), or an external device (e.g., raspberry pi). Cores then could, perhaps, only need to talk to that one interface, and the ...

Re: Update all script and Jotego cores

So is there any way to separate Jotego's Closed Beta out and just get the Public Beta? Currently I have to start a game to find out if it's something I can play or just a preview video. That's lame. Nothing builtin to the update scripts last I checked. It is not just new cores that would be missed by not enabling the beta option in the script, the...

In two hours I have seen the same game I think 10 times, that randomizer needs to be changed :) Also for Snes core loads up opens to load rom and remain stuck until following cycle One "weird trick" I have been able to use to get "better" (more deviating) initial RNG results, in Lua script at least, was to iterate the RNG, say,...

Maybe not something for core, but, just spitballing, perhaps "flag a file" (flag to keep/protect/favorite, or flag to remove/hide/ignore) could be a feature of super attract mode.

On some flat panels perhaps either there is a very minimal physical mask covering up the very edge of the screen, or the very edge pixels do not have physical screen elements they would map to ("sorry, you have a 1916x1076 screen, not a 1920x1080 screen")? https://www.avsforum.com/threads/official-panasonic-2011-tc-pxxvt30-series-thread-d...
