Re: Wonder Boy in Monster Land Core not Working
The rbf in the zip is named BWSEGASYS1 and all the mras refer to this rbf. The mras are only those which are not in the official release. I did this in order to avoid any conflict with the official core. You must have downloaded a different zip.

Re: Wonder Boy in Monster Land Core not Working
I don't understand what you mean by " but had to put in it's own folder". If you used the zip mentioned in the link I provided you just put the mras in _Arcade, the alternatives mras in _Arcade/_alternatives and the core in _Arcade/cores.

Re: What Happened?
As I was able to make the previous post without doing anything special the problem has to be something else. I am just curious at what happened.
I just noticed that this thread/sub forum does not offer Quick Reply, only Post a Reply. I checked other threads and Quick Reply is there.

Re: Wonder Boy in Monster Land Core not Working
It only works with the unofficial core from Blackwine, it is not part of the official release.

Re: Flight sticks
I am not sure your method would work: renaming the core does not do much besides renaming the core.
It will use the games/ao496 and all the configuration files will be named ao486..., including input mapping.

Re: Just Starting Out With MiSTer Some Basic Questions?
Set aside the primary et replace it with the 512MB one (after having prepared it using Mr Fusion).
The secondary SD card is used only by very few cores and is not even necessary as these cores can also use disk images from the primary SD card.

Re: Not being assigned an IP ethernet?
I really do not pay attention. I just start the transfer and come back later to see if it is finished as I do it when I am not using my MISTer.

Re: Not being assigned an IP ethernet?
I always avoid moving the SD card as these connectors are fragile. I always use WinSCP and recently someone said to switch WinSCP from the default SFTP to FTP; this improve the speed considerably.
It is still slow but who cares.

Re: Not being assigned an IP ethernet?
You need a DHCP server somewhere, IP addresses do not come out of thin air. If you check the IP on your PC it will be something starting by 169.
One solution would be to connect both your PC and MISTer via a router. If you want to use a direct cable you would have to give a fixed IP both to your PC and MISTer.

Re: Taito System SJ Core Released
I see that the mra has been fixed in the repository:
<rom index="0" md5="none" zip="piratpet.zip|junglek.zip" type="merged|nonmerged">
Update all grabs it.

Re: Taito System SJ Core Released
Yesterday I did not have a chance to try anything, only did the update. Today is early morning and I just loaded the first 2 mras, planning to test everything later on during the day. Thanks for the tip. Instead of duplicating the rom I edited the mra and changed the rom name to junglek.zip.

Re: Taito System SJ Core Released
The mras where not in the right place in the repository, this is fixed. You may also have run the update all script too early before the roms where made available in Arcade ROMs DB. Run it again.

Re: External USB Hub?
MISTer has only 1 USB port usable for controllers (and other devices) so a USB hub is generally used (it must be an OTG hub). As long as you use a cable which does not go over the limit there should be no problem. The signals go at near light speed on the cable so it won't add delay.

You also have this IP problem. How do you power the MISTer and the hub? Are you using a splitter? Do you have a switch on the 5V?

Re: My MiSTer Keeps Changing Its (Wired) IP Address All of a Sudden
Strange! Last Linux update was 05/01 so I suppose you would have noticed the problem earlier. If you did not change anything on your router there does not seem to have any reason for renewing the lease.
You could put your MISTer in fixed IP and see what it gives.
