Re: MiSTer FPGA Gameboy Savestate Preview

Isn't FDS the save-state version of NES? :p Really it would be quite welcome on the 16-bit cores too, once you get outside of Nintendo and Squaresoft games there are a ton lacking any kind of save feature. I've gotten used to play a level or zone at a time on emulators and the time commitment to actually progress anywhere is really limiting my curr...

Re: PC VGA CRT MiSTer with I/O Board Scaling Issues

It looks like you got analog output working with scandoubler bypassing the scaler. This should mean no more scaling artifacts. So the question is what is the problem now? If its the borders or centering that are bugging you, you have to either adjust your monitor settings, or else consign yourself to the VGA scaler and attending distortions, becaus...

Re: PC VGA CRT MiSTer with I/O Board Scaling Issues

Bit of a newbie myself but I think forced_scandoubler and vga_scaler don't quite work together like how you'd want them to. Forced_scandoubler is mainly for taking 240pish analog output and changing it to 480pish. It simply doubles the vertical resolution with doubled pixels, pushing 15khz signals made for CRTs up to 30khz for VGA monitors. Used by...

Re: IO Board No VGA Output

If this is a VGA PC CRT monitor, you need to edit your mister.ini and set forced_scandoubler=1. The menu and most cores default to 15khz/240pish output appropriate for CRT TVs, and this change will bump them up to 30khz/480p which was the typical minimum for PC monitors.

Re: 15hz CRT support through CGA/EGA card simulation?

I've been playing around with recent stable builds using VGA output to a late-ish PC CRT (max res 1600x1200 @ 60hz). From my experience it seems like this core always uses the scaler for video output even with vga_scaler=0. Your video mode choice matters as does the aspect ratio in the settings, these are things that are usually ignored for VGA out...
