I'm trying to get scanlines on the ZX Spectrum, with the following MiSTer.ini settings:

[Spectrum]
video_mode=7
vscale_mode=1
vsync_adjust=2

This should give me 76 blank rows on top and bottom of a 1080p display (and it does), and the 284 displayed lines should be doubled (they are).

However, turning on Scale Filter - Custom and selecting Scanlines (Soft).txt, no scanlines are visible, as if the core is actually outputting a full 568 lines.

Any suggestions for how to get working scanlines, *without* using Scandoubler Fx? (It is, and I wish it to remain, set to None.)

I believe the scanline filter wont display the scanlines if the upscale is only 2x. Try video_mode=9 and see if that works. If that works, but is too small on the screen for you, you could make a custom mode of 1152x864 to get roughly a 3x scale and hopefully it looks good when scaled up by your monitor.
