Tapes on C16

Unread post by AnotherGamer »

A question for any who've traveled this road before me:

On the C16 core, when trying to play a. tap file, here's what I do:
  • Select "Reset and Apply" on C16 Core
  • Bring up OSD
  • Select "Load *.prg, tap, bin"
  • Navigate to the desired .tap file and hit [ENTER]
  • Return to OSD
  • At the new "Tape" menu items, I turn Tape Sound = ON, and Autoplay = ON
  • I listen to the godawful noise of the tape loading
  • The tape finishes loading
After that, typing RUN and pressing [ENTER] does nothing apart from causing the system to print "READY."

What do we do after the tape loading noise ends?

Thanks to all the kind souls who take the time to help.

That did the trick.

Type

LOAD""

On a modern keyobard, to get that ouput, I had to type

LOAD@@

And then you select the .tap file from within the OSD.

Thank you so much!

You don't even need the quotes, just LOAD will do it. Or even easier l shiftO for a commodore shortcut.
