Atari 8-Bit Computers
Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
The last released version of the core is broken- at least with 32M SDRAM. I don't have 128M to test. The previous version of the core, however, still works fine with carts and 32M.

Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
I seem to have an issue now: I can't run anything but cartridges.
When I try to run my Seven Cities of Gold or MULE floppies, it either tells be to not use a custom OS, or to remove the cartridge in the cartridge slot (which there is none inserted, obviously), depending on the machine type.
Help :O

Loving it!
Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
With 32MB of RAM Atari Xl CART support is totally broken since all 2020 versions. I rolled back to Atari800_20190927.rbf and I can run carts again.
Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
Testing some demos on Atari 800 core I found a lot do not work, tried the same demos on MiST core and they work there, so something must be broken on Atari 800 Mister port. Tried old Atari 800 cores but did not improve matters.

Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
Try opening an issue on the Github with examples which of the demos that work on MiST aren't working on MiSTer.
Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
Is there a step by step guide on how to do this? I have the DE10 set up with the atari core. I have three xe ROM files and don't know what to name them or where to put them.

Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
At first, I was having similar issues when tinkering with the different computer cores, I then found the cheat sheet (linked below) to be a tremendous asset.

Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
What exactly does the Win key do in this core? I can't find the info on this. It makes taking screenshots with Win+PrtScr practically impossible as the graphics get all messed up while the Win key is held.
Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
Hi,
I am trying to run Yoomp! (http://yoomp.atari.pl/download.htm) on this core. I tried all kinds of RAM and BIOS settings, but it always crashes the core after the second loader (with white background). Has anyone run this game successfully?

Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
this game does not use BASIC, you must use the F8 (Option) key:
"After mounting the disk, press F10 to boot. Some games don't like the Basic ROM. Keep F8(Option) pressed while pressing F10 to skip the Basic".
I use the Atari800_20210228.rbf

I use the Atari800_20210228.rbf
Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
I'm having problems with Galaxian game on the Atari 800 core for Mist and Mister. The joystick is not detected. I tried using the swap option in the core.

Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
Do you mean the 1982 Galaxian by Atari? I tried a XEX version of the game and the joystick did work. Which version of the game did you try?
Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
Yes, the Cart version. I will try the XEX version. Thank you.

Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
I think the cart version could be the 5200 version, don't know how the analog controls are handled. Make sure to try the 400/800 version.

Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
Those who are not familar with Atari 8-Bit Computers and it's behaviour and meanings of the "special keys" (Start, Select, Option) might use the patched system rom, which I found here: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/20688 ... nt-4333535 The patches are:
- Hias' higshpeed patch to allow higher SIO transfer rates https://www.horus.com/~hias/atari/#hipatch
- Alternative math pack (might be incompatible with TurboBasic)
- Reversed function of the option key (normally you have to press OPTION while booting to disable Basic)
Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
I tried the XEX version of Galaxian for the Atari 800XL but is not working either. Please tell me what setting are you using or where to get the working XEX.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
My Xbox 360 Arcade Stick USB is still not working in this game. I guess is the core. Thank you.

I had a similar problem with the atr versions I had, even with zeen's helpful settings.Chris23235 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 10:49 pmBIOS: OS Azeen wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 10:38 pm I tried the XEX version of Galaxian for the Atari 800XL but is not working either. However, I had a lot more success with a copy from http://www.atarimania.com
