This core is not in MiSTer-devel. It's different from MSX_MiSTer, which emulates MSX2+. This one emulates an MSX1 strictly.

Have there been any updates to this core? Is beta 4.05 is the latest version? I'm also curious if this core will make it to MiSTer-devel?

The latest I have is MSX1_Beta3 so I guess I am not up to date.
I remember that at the time he stated he was not interested to further development for the MISTer version, I think he initially developed it for another FPGA

There's a new MSX 1 initiative: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3588

The Sord M5 predated the MSX standard but was very similar to what MSX computers would be. It may even had an influence on the standard.
If the developpers of the Sord M5 MSXized it it won't be a Sord M5.

It's not really about Sord but entireley new MSX core, based on Philips VG 8010 (at least that's the way I understood @molekula's posts)

That's my understanding as well, he just posted his new intentions in the Sord M5 thread but it's all about a new core separate from Sord.
