I say more or less because most of the time it hangs and once it boots, I have corrupted character at the screen. This is something that I cannot see on the videos and according to the previous posts nobody has this kind of issue. Any idea where this could comes from ? Is the core working with the 128mb memory ? Or is there anything that I missed ? Thank you for your help
If you are on Beta3, try Beta2 instead.

kathleen wrote: Wed Jul 29, 2020 10:04 am I used Samba to make the transfer (directly via window explorer then)
But it is a good point. I'll try by FTP using filezilla, I remember I had to do this for the scrips which were not working by using samba.
Will test and let you know.

it is absolutely necessary to avoid the SMB transfer, in any case for the writes

Hi Guys,
Just to confirm that I have no issues with both the core file itself and VHD file. I have also a 128 mb module in my setup. I have tried to transfer the files over sftp again but everything worked fine.
That’s very odd!

If you have some issues with Beta03, Yo_Me said Beta02 should work. Give it a try please.

@ron,
YES ! Sorry to do not have thought using the previous build. I do confirm the Beta02 works like a charm now.
So Beta03 can have issue then with some DE boards ?
Thank you one more time, also to @tontonkalun to have spent time to help on this and to @Alkadian.

Hello @tontonkaloun.

I have read the whole thread about MSX and I confirm that the files you shared work without problems.

The first VHD image you have created is 16 Mb and the second about 65 Mb, but I wanted to know how you created them, because I am interested in making a larger image. I can't do it with the indications in the thread.

Thanks and best regards

Hello @tontonkaloun

Thanks for sharing the last file. It works perfectly.

According to what the thread says, an image must be generated in FAT16 and then renamed to VHD. There are other forums that argue that the format must be FAT12. Anyway, there are many applications that generate images, but not all of them work. What application do you use to generate the images?

Nextor supports Fat12 and Fat16, but the loader only supports Fat 16 Id 0x04 or 0x06.
Latest Windows only make format Fat16 Id 0x0E, in these SO you must use a thirdy party software.

I made it from Windows 10. Either you start from an sd image that you reformat, or you create the image of an sd card (if you have an old sd card ...). I didn't use any particular program. The most important is the formatting (fat16) and the two files.

Tip: If your disk is too big you will not have the correct formatting

Thank you Ron, I've just tried the new beta version and I have the same issue than with the Beta 03, this update does not work on my Mister, I have graphic issues at the MSX boot screen and the VHD does not load at all. The Beta 02 works fine without having this kind of problem. Any idea where this comes from ?

It was my though also. An incompatibility with the SDRAM but what is weird is that I've no issue with any other cores, even the MSX1 beta 02 works fine, I'm wondering what has changed between the MSX1 beta02 and 03-04 which could cause this. On the other hands, if this issue happens only on my side, well, I would suspect also something wrong on my side :-) But so far, I've no clue.

Changes from Beta 02 to 03 and 04 are just sdram stuff.
Beta 02 had more problems than Beta 03 or 04, but these still had some users with problems, just like you @Kathleen.
By now, with Beta 04, just one user has some type of problems, but can make the core works once "warmed", and you that cannot even start the vhd.
It's a recent Beta, still more people have to test it in order to have significant numbers.

Have you tried with the external sd? It's the same behavior?

Will try by tomorrow with and external SD. So far I did only test with the *.VHD placed in the internal SD card.

Thank you fpganoob, I'm going to try it in a couple of minutes and let you know. Just for information, I've just tested the previous Beta04 (and the 03) by using an external SD card as you advised me, and I ended to the same issue than using them by having the boot.vhd in internal SD. Both don't work on my Mister, only the Beta02 works.

@fpganoob,
I've just tried the Beta4.01 and it doesn't work neither on my side. Tested with both external and internal SD. Same problem graphic issue and randomly I have a reboot or I have a message telling me that the version of the command2.com is wrong.

I'm sorry, that's a strange behavior. It must be related to sdram, cause it's the only changes between this and Beta02.

We will continue trying.
