CPC Collections

Unread post by niallquinn »

Apart from the usual TOSEC etc. is anyone aware of a regularly updated collection for the CPC, that contains games, demos, that sort of thing.

There must be half a dozen for the 64, and there's loads of cpc scene and demo sites, just wondered if anyone knew of a collection?

Many thanks,

I also use a GoodCpC set, but it's not regularly updated.
You can easily find a 1.3Gb set called "GoodCPC v3.1415", the google result should give you an archive link. This is a disc set, so you won't get any .cas cassette images, if you wanted old-school style loading.
I don't think there is a set that includes all the newer homebrew releases the Amstrad has had, most of them you will probably have to manually download them.

GoodCPC is ok, but also fairly ancient in 2025. I think the last official release is from 2010.

I use Gamebase sets for microcomputers. The problem with the CPC Gamebase is that there are 2 different ones. One is old, but has better game coverage. The other (by Loic) has better quality scans and game files but doesn't include all the games because the author only uses original media for dumping. So I stick with the older one for my everyday use and check TOSEC/Loic's files for some more interesting cases.

Yeah I know Cowering, his good sets are pretty decent. I thought I'll go through the current TOSEC demos, take out all the crap, then get the best from pouet and CPC rules.

Thanks!
