NES FDS - Multi Disk games (2 disks)

I saw the last update of NES core with a change regarding the number 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B.
To have 2A and 2B do we need to concatenate two disks games like Famicom Mukashibanashi - Shin Onigashima ?

It was a semantic change from 1 2 3 4. A disk can't have four sides of course, this was just the second disk's sides.

So I guess the answer is yes, the games still need to be concatenated if they are multi disk.
